Which Blackdeath is that? Aren't there like 50 different ones? I got something from Asgard Musik 100 yrs ago by them. I think it was the ruskie BD. Very, uh, primitive.

Wizard Smoke
Shit sounds great. What is Wizard Sound?

Smiths - buncha shit

Cathedral of Tears (Jack Grisham's post-TSOL band) - random
Very goth rock that's trying way to hard. Might grow on my, but just seems weak and cheesy

Toxic Holocaust - C&C

Kicking Spit - Psychrockbullshit
Very good, almost like a spazzier, more hardcore Husker Du. Digging it.

Rick Springfield - variety
Motherfucker wrote a LOT of music

Ringworm - The Promise

Old Firm Casuals - both 7"s
Fuck. This sucks. I really wanted to hate this a lot more. It's actually surprisingly decent, as long as you ignore most of the lyrics, just like most oi...

Grim Reaper - first couple albums
Shit always sounds good.

Was listening to that Kicking Spit record the other day. The vocals aren't my thing but the musicianship is tight, especially the drumming.

Totally agree with you about C&C. Good but not nearly as good as Overdose of Death which is my favorite stuff they've done.

Dragged Into Sunlight - Hatred for Mankind
Disma - Towards the Megalith
Psycho - Pain Addict Pigs <---- This album makes me want to wreck my car in spectacular fashion, going out in a ball of fire and leaving behind only a smoking crater. Preferably during one of the high notes on "Mater Lachrymarum."

I think the vocals in Kicking Spit have a real Bob Mould quality to them. I love Husker Du, but his vox have always been my least favorite part of their sound.

An Overdose of Death was, IMO, the kind of perfect album that only happens once in a band's career and that's only if they are very talented and very lucky, kind of a stars aligning kind of moment. I think Joel had spent his whole career building up to that moment and, as good as C&C, it's going to be very hard to put out as solid of an album as Overdose again. But here's to hoping!

I never got into Husker Du, musically it reminded me of a tighter/faster Sonic Youth, maybe I should check HD out. Any record in particular?

I liked that Overdose had more mid tempo stuff... Future Shock, War Game, War is Hell... all classic and a nice pairing of fast and mid tempo thrashing. Wild Dogs is super nasty as well. Donny Paycheck (drummer of Zeke) actually played on Overdose and I think his style fit perfectly for those songs.
