Spotted at a booth at the Pendergrass Flea Market -- it's on the east side and near the front (5th or 6th "street"): metal t-shirts. Sonata Arctica. Okayyyy. Immortal. A bit more unexpected.... Burzum. Woah! Not one but TWO different Lacrimosa t-shirts. Downright weird. They're in-between all the Ch...

Netherworld is consistently awesome. I'd like to go back this year if I have the chance, since I haven't been there since the year it first opened and then once since then. Was lucky enough to get the VIP tour that first year, since there is a Dragon*Con connection to Netherworld; in fact, it's why ...

Finally getting back to this after D*C and ProgPower. :) Does not paying a "guarantee" = not paying at all and the band only makes what they pull in merch sales? Since there isn't a door price to split, I don't see how a band would get paid without a guarnatee, unless it was some benevolent unspecif...

I cannot even begin to explain how hard Ihsahn ruled. +1 VERY hard act to follow, but I'll give it to Therion out of sponsor loyalty. :) One of the high points of the whole fest for me was talking to Ihsahn out in the lobby on Saturday night. We had heard he had to leave to fly back to Norway durin...

Re: Tallahassee's metal show

So I'm trying to get involved with their metal show! If I do get on it, it would be next semester...I'm on the production team for their radio station though. They do it backwards; you have to be on a department first before you can DJ. It's rare that you can be a DJ right off the bat. Their show i...

No details on who's playing? Or did I miss a strategically misplaced link on their site-- err, page? Looks like that might be the same ship ( Majesty of the Seas ) as 70,000 Tons uses, and it is the same people behind both. Can't imagine they're expecting to fill up the whole ship with this, though.

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lold3tW6zN1qex4l5o1_400.jpg LOL lol, yep, that's Bill Kaulitz. Tokio Hotel still holds the record for shortest overall show at The Tabernacle (and also one of the smallest crowds I've ever seen there). No opening act. No closing act. Just them. About 40-45 minutes....

A bit late to the party here but I actually was kinda busy with D*C stuff before the con. :) As for better/more metal bands at D*C, we've tried that before and it failed, with TTD and Vainglory. I still hold out hope for the future, but any "name" metal bands would want a decent guarantee and -- wit...

WELL, then. This is officially a show, now. :)

Heck, Gene Hoglan is pretty much worth the price of admission alone. He is the Mountain That Plays.

In the latest issue of The Atlantic, there is a story entitled "Pink Floyd: The Playlist of Libyan Revolt," about how the student rebels are uniting through Western rock music. What caught my attention was the guy they introduce on the second page, in the Sepultura shirt. Who sang in a Death Metal ...
