Re: RIP jon kincaid
I just heard about this a couple of days ago. Such a bummer. That dude - and Personality Crisis - were institutions in this city. For decades I'd listen nearly every Sunday night for the exact reason that his playlists and taste were so wide-ranging. I probably learned about more non-mainstream musi...

Re: Obituary, Masq, 1.29
I've been so stoked for this show for soooo long. Really need some metal and hardcore in my life!
It looks like doors are 6, but that seems hella early for a three band show.
Anyone know what time Enforced is set to go on?
Don't these Decibel shows usually include a local opener?

Re: bands who had more than one later-uncharacteristic juvenilia record
I've read the first post in this thread and dozen times and, probably because I suuuccckkk at math, I can't figure out the criteria here. I can think of quite a few 80s hardcore bands that put out raging slabs followed by dodgy hard rock albums that might count, but this is a metal board so I'll avo...

Re: Yesteryear
That country singer lookin' dude with the acoustic guitar is Channing Wilson. He's local and pretty good if you like the Outlaw stuff. Even good country is hit or miss with me. I had no idea who he was when I saw him open for Steve Earle. I was very impressed.

Re: Yesteryear
Thanks! I suppose all that technical talk means something important. I'll see if I can add some more now.
Here's some random show pics, graffiti I found in Brighton, a dumb tattoo I got, some other shit. Most are a within a year before the pandemic started. Some are older.

Re: re-recordings
I liked the first single off the new SFU enough to preorder the album. Though, I'd never felt much for them before, I really dug that "Amputator" song. Then I heard the second single and cancelled my preorder. Pretty sure that keeps the number of SFU releases in my collection at a solid zero.

Re: Live Streams
Obituary live.com is running their three live streams until the end of the year. I've watched each one repeatedly. Damn, I love that band. The Dare/Terror stream a week or so ago was great. Hardcore really needs the crowd, but I'll take what I can get for now. Here's some upcoming stuff I've made n...

Re: Live Streams
Paradise Lost did one last Thursday which I thought was quite good. It was $15 for the "VIP" package, which got me 3 extra songs and an interview with questions posed by fans. They didn't say a word between songs, or at least it was edited to seem that way. Because I'm not the biggest PL fan, but I...

Live Streams
I guess this is as good of a section for this topic as any... I've watched a bunch of live streams since everything shut down. Some great, some...not so great. I've been trying to find a one-stop-shop for seeing everything coming up, but that seems to be a pipe dream. Metal Sucks has a limited numbe...

Re: Yesteryear
Well, I tried to upload a bunch from my iCloud account and from the desktop, but only these met the file size requirement and weren't too large. I'll try again. Maybe I can do it right from my phone.

Re: re-recordings
I think the main reason bands re-record is so that they can use the new versions for product placement in games, movies, etc... In that case, I don't really care because it's going to be buried in a scene with a bunch of explosions or whatever and because I don't play games. Good on them for getting...

Re: Yesteryear
touring-level heavy metal bands playing odd venues is something that I wish I had experienced... I guess since the rise in popularity of the internet it's just too easy to book legitimate music venues. but shit like youth centers, school gymnasiums, rockabilly bars, shopping malls, etc. is somethin...
