Re: all posts deleted

No wonder. I was trying to remember who that dude was that didn't play any instruments but was always trying to form bands with very specific sounds to play what he wanted. "Vocalist looking to start a band that sounds like Band A and Band B and a little of Band C and Band D. You guys figure it out ...

Re: whats everyone currently listening to????

Lots of Rush. I'm mostly familiar with 2112 through Signals. Been giving their early 70s stuff more spins and delving into the mid 80s and after. Some of the keyboard heavy stuff (Power WIndows) sounds comical because they use all these effects that were probably state of the art at the time, but ju...

Re: British Lion (Steve Harris) 2/4 Masquerade

I looked at the setlist and there's no Maiden songs. Looks like it'll be an early night.

The Masq site shows no openers, but I expect there will be 1 or 2. The last Yngwie show had no openers listed, but there were 2.

Re: RIP Neil Peart

buried in a kiss kasket  Goddamnit, Chris. Glad I got to see them, even if just once, up at Verizon Amphitheater a few years ago. My favorite albums are from Hemispheres to Signals, and I've been largely unfamiliar with the rest of their catalog. Been listening to a lot of it over the past sev...

Re: Gutted Alive, Gutted Christ, Ecryptus, Aborning - Highlander 1/18

Gutted Alive was pretty good. Death metal with a high energy show. Gutted Christ was tight, and not bad, but not real interesting. Ecryptus had a girl dressed as Princess Leia in the slave outfit on "stage" with them while they played. She just sat there and looked kinda bored though. Aborning was j...

Re: POSSESSED & PESTILENCE

They sounded good at MDF last year.
My only complaint was Mameli changed the vocal cadence in the "breakdown" section of Chronic Infection.

Their set was nearly all Consuming Impulse and Testimony.
