Interesting enough film. I am a bit unnerved by the atheistic "nature" of black metal that the film presented. Of course, fault cannot be placed on the film makers for this oversight since the bulk of information was conveyed via-interviews. Rather, I find the individuals selected (by the film maker...

Enochian Crescent's vocals are beyond terrible. The riffs are hardly even passable as nu-metal.

The moments that are attempting to be 'epic' fail miserably and all we are left with is the cheesiest nonsense I've possibly ever heard.

...you asked.

They weren't called Black Dawn. Those are two completely separate bands. But what makes Black Dawn good and not Enochian Crescent? Black Dawn = Blood For Satan I don't know about this "The True Black Dawn" nonsense. But it wouldn't surprise me. As for Enochian Crescent, I don't like them. Therefore...

Ahh, no new thread then.

But a tangent? Certainly:

Arcana, Inade, Herbst9, Profane Grace, Halo Manash, Aeoga, Zero Kama, Endura, Ain Soph, Lycia, (old) Mortiis, Popol Vuh (does all of Herzog's soundtracks), and, of course, Tangerine Dream.

Black Metal is about creating a specific atmosphere. This atmosphere should be conveyed 100% from every aspect of the work in question. Every drum beat, every note, every lyrical piece, every graphic image, every photo, and all other aspects of the work should be scrutinized to the millionth degree....

I was including Si Monumentum in the "new direction" category.

As for the old DsO, and bands that supersede them, it was a fairly generic statement to compliment the fairly generic music of that era.

Going to give us an idea of what to expect in No.6?

First of all, I do not remember bashing the new Nachtmystium release (well, save for maybe the cover track). I simply said I didn't get it. Again, therefore it is safe to assume that my appreciation for the extreme metal genre is limited exclusively to the "necro-cult rehearsal tape only" style? Mor...

If you have never listened to Pink Floyd then I could see where you would not make any connections with Nachtmystium's "new" direction. My familiarity, or lack thereof, with Pink Floyd is inconsequential to my opinion of Nachtmystium's latest outputs. I am failing to understand how disliking Nachtm...
