Congrats on more additions to your private metal army.

And I thought you had moved or something Greg. I assume your job has consumed your life at this point?

I saw them about a month ago and I loved all the new songs. I really like the new direction they've taken.
More rocking out and less 5 BPM. Not that there's anything wrong with doom.

Re: Featured article: Slayer

"Slayer" is the featured article on Wikipedia today. Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Turns out Reign in Blood is the heaviest album of all time. Hahaha I don't know if you noticed, but that quote is from Kerrang. I mean it certainly could be argued that it is the heaviest album...

Yeah, I was reading that one too, LOL brilliant.
The amazing part about that one is it's all basically true.
He is a really smart guy that was in a graduate program at MIT.

I prefer tenors and hitting the high notes. Barlow's baritone just sounds weird especially because he singing style is weird.
I don't know. I'm gonna give him another chance.

i did not know that TWO members of mastodon were on that album.. i watched that mastodon dvd in which all of the band talked about how mastodon came together and what previous projects they were involved in. and i was surprised to not hear anything from the drummer about being on such a great album...

If so yes.

If not, still yes.
I mean yeah they're technically something else, but yes no matter how you define genre. He's a vocalist in a metal band that sings, not screams/growls/whatever.

This is interesting.

And Matt Barlow annoys the shit out of me. I think he has prevented me from liking Iced Earth before the newer stuff. He sounds like Bob Dylan fronting a metal band. Way too nasal.

We have it at the station.
I only had to the chance to listen to it briefly, it seemed decent.
