And ... the next logical step . I don't know what is dumber. The eight string guitar (sitar?) or playing that abomination in gloves. I'm leaning towards the guitar... http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/67502000/jpg/_67502018_heavymetal.jpg Nothing wrong with an 8-string as long as you actually u...

I had no idea about Jeffs necrotizing disease until recently, the pictures of his arm are gnarly. Its the same flesh eating bacteria the Georgia girl got from the swing rope at the lake except they had to amputate her limbs to save her life. His arm was seriously gnarly looking. The scar patterns ma...

Slightly off-topic, but in my 9th grade history class we were studying ancient Egypt. I told my teacher I had a music video that was filmed at and even inside the great pyramids. She was intrigued and agreed to it. And THAT is the story of how I made my history class watch the video for Seasons in t...

Just finished my last final of my last day of school ever so I'm celebrating with Stone Double Bastard and Yazoo Sue. Fuck yes. Congrats! Also, Double Bastard rules! Related: I just tried the Stone Espresso Russian Imperial Stout the other day. Very tasty brew! If you're into that kinda thing I'd r...

The first band was ST's old guitarist's new band, or a rebirth of No Mercy with a different name, I think. They weren't bad, but the drummer screwed up a couple of times and Mike looks like he's been spending a lot of time at In & Out Burger. I wish I could have caught them. I dug the hell out of t...

ST was so good. Their mix was whatever but I didnt care. So many dives. They fucked pledge your allegiance, which sucked but still a great show. Set was perfect, all classic songs except for one new one, which was embarrassingly bad. This! The new song was actually well timed in the set. Perfect sp...

I had to double check the source on this to see if I was actually reading an Onion article. As much as I enjoy discussing metal with you fine folks over beers at the Highlander, the idea of discussing it in any kind of "Official scholarly fashion" just seems silly as hell to me.

Liers In Wait will be playing post-show in Purgatory and we brought in the Metroplex folks to make it a 30th Anniversary party since both ST and DRI originally played there many, many moons ago. Should be great. When I was in 7th grade a couple of my older friends went to see Suicidal at the Metrop...

It was a helluva show! I talked to a few out-of-towners who had driven in from as far as Gulfport MS, so that's pretty cool. And yeah, there were a handful of friends of ours who we managed to coerce to leave the safety of their homes and precious tv sets for an evening. And now that they've held up...

The Drunk History thing at Highlander last night was weird. I walked in and the manager said it was all people she'd never seen before and was sure would never come back in again. It was in the back room where we usually hang and was fully lit, which was weird to me of course. And FULL of people. A...
