other bands

i call them Protestant / evangelical bands.

Living Sacrifice was good, the older material was the most competant. old extol is amazing, Schaliach is brilliant. Just spell-binding. Parameacium is good doom metal... i've heard them and Vengeance rising on Wrekage. Old Vengeance Rising is the best. I don't know, the overall majority of those so called "christian" bands are mediocre. Old Mortification was very good man. Scrolls of the Megilloth is heavy duty even for the most cynical metal heads.... I can also live without the cheesy and retarded lyrics and un-inspiring riffs....

i forgot about paramecium, those guys had a good album or two. i'm not sure but i think that they got pretty cheesy by the end though.
I have a burned copy of Burial, but I haven't heard Mesmerized or Paralysis.

Do you remember this Christian metal compilation from the early 90s? There was like a dozen songs from 4 bands and while I can't remember the name of it, I can remember the cover art. And like Sacrifice, it's on the tip of my tongue too!

i remember some 4 band comp. from back in the day but i don't remember who all was on it. if we are thinking of the same one it had extol on it and they were horrible back then. it was before they added Ole Berud, the musical mastermind on guitar. Ole Berud pretty much made extol what they have become, and surprisingly enough he left the band before their last record

current bands not already mentioned:
Enders Game, Cernunnos! and Force of Habit (I think these are all still together...)

defunct bands worth mentioning that haven't been mentioned:
Kinetic Dissent, Dick Delicious, Terminal Doom, old Hallows Eve (Summers Eve), Cauldron Born, Nihilist, Damnage (capturing the tru Jonesborough sound), Lestregus Nosferatus (all 254 incarnations). So many more that I can't recall.

re christian metal: weren't Devastation Christian? They weren't really pushy Christians. They sang songs about people singing songs about evil being idiots and doomed to pay later... good band however they leaned.

Is Cauldron Born defunct now? I know they weren't very active aside from making albums, just didnt know they were done. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of The Fall of Rome, please let me know. They played a killer show at the Sawnee Center in Cumming several years ago. Wish they would have played out more.

FUCK YES!!! I love Cauldron Born, im listening to them now. Their guitarist Howie is my guitar teacher. They broke up a while ago, but I think Howie is looking to get it started again, thats what he told me at least, but I dont think it'll ever happen.

Holy shit I totally forgot about Parameacium too! Haha man, old band names from way in the back of my memory. I never liked Scrolls of the Megilloth, sorry. I think of them as the Six Feet Under of their day. Sorrow too.

half-retarded my ass! i saw that guy the other day at a show crawling off the bus on all fours, even had two pairs of shoes on.......one for his feet and one for his hands. he refused to ever look up to see where he was going and kept hitting his head on walls, trash cans, doors, assholes and table legs. luckily he had this bag hanging on his face, kinda like the things they feed horses with to catch all the puke from the massive head trauma.
