For the most part, they are the ones that make that distinction and seperate themselves from the rest of the scene.bulejaggers wrote:i don't like calling them "Christian" because they are just entertainers. that's it. musicians. those distinctions are lame.

I'm not really interested in debating religious semantics here.LeveLscream wrote:Well, they are suppose to seperate themselves from the normal secular movement. Standing up for what you believe in should be encouraged, I give them props. At the same time you should NOT act any higher than anyone else, we are sinners.
I'm merely stating that I find it to be incredibly annoying that bands exist on this premise and therefore block out a large portion of their potential fanbase.

I bought a Mortification tape at Wal-Mart when I was like, 11 or something.
I'm not religious person by anymeans, but I think the song "Killing Evil" really spoke to me and showed me the ways of Christ. Anyone know what passages they quoted in this song? Here are the lyrics....
KILLING EVIL!
KILLING EVIL!
KILLING EVIL!
KILLING EVIL!

Scrolls of The Megalith!
Man I always hated Mortification. Boring as fuck. Then there was Vengeance Rising, Christian thrash with power metal vocals. I could never get into them.
Extol is Christian right? Undeceived is really really good. I didn't like The Blueprint Divide (Dives?) though. Synergy wasn't bad.

extol is awesome! i'm not into the new one at all but all the ones before are pure brilliance. burial, mesmerized, undeceived, paralysis and synergy. if you haven't heard the first two dan you should check'em out.
also, lets not forget Living Sacrifice had a few really good albums.
believer was insanity. Seventh Angel was really good, sanctifica put out two cool albums, old embodiment, Alethian is also insanely good. getting a little bit away from metal you have some great christian metalcore, hardcore bands.....NIV, training for utopia, zao, warlord, the metalcore side of living sacrifice.
i actually don't like too much christian music but i'd say that i probably know more christian bands than 99% of the people on the boards so naturally, i like more.
Sacrifice! That's who I was trying to remember! DUH!
I have a burned copy of Burial, but I haven't heard Mesmerized or Paralysis.
Do you remember this Christian metal compilation from the early 90s? There was like a dozen songs from 4 bands and while I can't remember the name of it, I can remember the cover art. And like Sacrifice, it's on the tip of my tongue too!
