Algarothsyum 5-track demo is out

Post by Vhyle » Wed December 29th, 2010, 10:26 am

Yup, I decided to release the 5-track demo of my solo project, Algarothsyum. There are 2 more tracks in this demo that are supposed to have vocals, but due to various factors, I wasn't ever able to actually sit down and finish them like I had hoped. One track does have vocals, though. The near future for me will be even busier than before, being in the Army and all, and I've been sitting on these recordings. So with that said, I decided to release them.

The instruments are all recorded and finished - the only thing lacking is vocals on 2 tracks, that's it.

I hope you enjoy it! Here's the Megaupload link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IVKMNO8L

I also have I_LOVE_ZUCKERPENIS and ReverbNation links:

Nothing? Not a titter? It ain't that bad, is it?

lol?

I'm done with basic training by the way, and now in AIT. So now I have SOME time to continue writing. I've already got a lot of new stuff in the works.

Pretty cool, man. I think I actually like the instrumental tracks more than the other ones. I know you're busy but keep it up! The drumming's pretty cool too

Thanks man, glad you gave it a spin. The instruments are what I concentrate on a LOT more. When it comes to writing lyrics, I'm a friggin' deadbeat.

So hey, since I'm an anal-retentive perfectionist, I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to re-mix the demo. I improved the production quite a bit - beefed up the guitar tones a bit, the drums are a lot crisper and brighter, emphasized the big open atmosphere a lot more, and some other shit. It sounds a lot better, methinks.

Actually, I did this because I FINALLY fixed this really bizarre issue I was having with the sound on my laptop. The sound issue was really hindering me to fully use Reaper (the software I use and love) with full effectiveness. But now I can, so I decided to improve the production and re-mix the demo. Replace the old one with this one. Let me know what you guys think.

And those who haven't heard it at all yet - download it and check it out! I think you guys will dig it.

Alright, this is the last post I'm gonna make about my music and my demo. Figured I would attempt to make SOME sort of last impression on Atlanta before I left.

I'm being stationed at Fort Campbell, so I'm moving out of Georgia. So, I thought one last shameless plug for my demo wouldn't hurt before I left!

Algarothsyum will stay alive of course. It just won't be an Atlanta-based metal project anymore. After I get moved and settled, I'm going to start recording for a full length release. It'll be a little while before it's finished, but recording will commence soon. After that, as long as I'm stateside, I plan on assembling Algarothsyum into a full band (with me on guitars and vocals, instead of the usual drums that I've played in bands before), and getting some shows going.

So in the meantime, enjoy the demo! Enjoy it as Atlanta metal for just a few more days. Check my pages below to keep updated on what's going on with the recording progress and the like. Thanks!

Thanks guys, glad you're digging it! Paul - good shit for you as well. I'm liking Fear Not Death. And it's a shame we didn't get to meet up before, since I used to live 5 minutes away from your office. Crazy stuff.

I'm recording the debut full length album now. I've got rhythm guitars finished for half of the songs already. One of the new songs is right at 10 minutes. And there will also be an epic song that I'm guessing will be about 14-15 minutes, which will be split into 3 tracks. And some other cool shit going on. Overall, I stay pretty damn busy with family, work and music. When it is finished, it will be awesome.

Thanks again guys. Hopefully the demo will hold you over until the album is finished.
