Amazon banner...

Post by holly » Thu July 21st, 2005, 12:16 pm

Hey BoB, that's pretty neat.
Does it pick the selections itself based on the genre you tell it?
Are you making anything off of it?
It seems like Amazon would throw some $$$ out, since they're such a big company...unless it's based on clicks...?
Also, I think it has the potential to be a lot more effective than the google ads.

I have much more control over the content w/ Amazon. I can select what type of amazon content to offer (music, videos, books, etc) and feed it keywords (death metal, etc). Google tried to figure out what advertisers matched your site - the only thing I could do was blacklist certain ads. Amazon kicks back a small percentage of purchases resulting from entry from our ads. Google was a per click deal resulting in fucking pennies. We'll see how it goes.

need some new tunes? click an Amazon ad! :)

What if someone uses the Amazon search on the main page?
