Name Change
Did they higher-ups at GPB make you change your name to The Void? If so, it's the smartest thing they've done since taking over Album 88. WNGTI was such a stupid name. I'm glad it's gone.

It was created in 1999 or 2000. The name was apparently sort of an inside joke, because most people at the station at the time hated metal and thought it shouldn't belong on a college radio station, so the dudes who created it were rightfully fed up and named the show "We're Not Gonna Take it." I'd be curious to see what kind of stuff they played in the beginning, though. If they mostly played black/death metal, that'd be odd.
Yeah, it's Into the Void. I didn't catch that in your post. I really like it -- hope I don't outgrow it.

I wasn't clear before, but we've actually been trying to change the name for over two years now. Lauryn tried to change the name back in May 2012 and management wouldn't approve it because the show had "always been We're Not Gonna Take It." Yes, she pointed out the logical fallacy and how hard it would be to market the show to a new audience with the old name. We made do, eventually focusing on "Metal at Midnight." We have new management now, and they were totally supportive of the name change. Yes, it's "Into the Void."
