Re: Former Hosts of WREKage, Where Are They Now?
so here's MY entry #1:
there's this *nix software tool called "environment modules" that's fairly common in high performance computing (HPC) circles. it allows you to manage and select different pre-installed software packages in one environment. it's simultaneously simple but irreplaceable.
anyway, I was reading the README me page in the source code repo for "environment modules" and in the authors section one name jumped out at me "Robert Minsk." I didn't really put it together right there, but I knew that name sounded super familiar. it got a me tah thinking about it and finally I had an inkling that I remembered that name as the same as an old wrekage host. sho nuff, I checked my wrekage history page and there it was, a "robert minsk." -- surely it's not the same guy?
well for the sake of privacy I'm not going to spell everything out, but to make a long story short it IS the same guy. small fucking world. one minute I'm minding my own business doing my job and the next by some coincidence I find that a tool I've used for a long time now was partially authored by a guy who hosted the same radio show as me 20 years previously. small fucking world.
