Man, Gracie got BITCHED, and that was totally lame.
Motherfucker was ready to have his goddamn arm broken off before he tapped out, though, and that was AMAZING.

BUT, fuck the heavy/welterweights.
The lightweight fights were fucking BRUTAL.

my stupid computer is editing my posts. its starting to tick me off.

anyway, yeah, i knew matt hughes was going to waste royce gracie. gracie is tough and was willing to get his arm broke to win the fight. the gracie's are known for never tapping. one of royce gracies few loses came from when a guy had him in a choke and he never tapped. he went unconscience and they stopped the fight.

the other fights were fairly lame for the most part. a lot of really good fighters fought but the fights were too quick and everyone was getting guillotined. thats an elementary submission thats super easy to get out of. not to the average person but for a trained fighter its first month ju-jitsu. but the dean lister triangle on sakara was awesome. that one knock out was pretty amazing when melvin knocked out that old guy.

ufc 61 is going to be awesome. tito vs. shamrock 2 and arlowski vs. sylvia 3.

i'm a total MMA nerdboy.

Dude, that's awesome.
I will have much to learn from you, because after last night, I am hooked.
The only shitty thing is that we're going to be in NY when UFC 61 happens, so hopefully one of our friends has a party for it.

ALSO, me and Rich and our friend that he works with are starting Ju-Jitsu next week.
HEHEHEHEHE.

awesome! i've trained ju-jitsu for years. its a blast. i'm about to go through my second knee surgery but when i finish rehab i'm going to start back ju-jitsu and also start training muay thai. when i was younger i did collegiate and freestyle wrestling as well as dabbled into some boxing. i started doing ju-jitsu about 4 or 5 years ago. i've done mostly sporadic training though due to music. at one point TSU was actually playing a lot and going on the road a fair bit so it took away from my training.

i'm seriously a fight nerd. i watched the very first ufc back in 93 and got hooked. now i have quite a collection of dvd's and video tapes of UFC, Pride and King Of The Cage events. at one point i had the first 18 ufc's on vhs, but then i let my brother borrow them and only got like seven back from him. but i have many more of the newer ones on dvd.

if you are hooked you should keep your eye out for PRIDE events. pride usually has better overall events and arguably the best fighters in the world b/c they pay a lot better than the ufc. http://www.pridefc.com
