nile signs to nuclear blast

Post by Matt » Sat May 27th, 2006, 1:07 am

Death metal outfit Nile has officially signed with Nuclear Blast Records, marking an end to the band's business relationship with Relapse Records. Here's a statement from Nile's Karl Sanders:

"Nile is pleased to announce the recent signing of its new record deal with Nuclear Blast. We are excited about the possibilities and potential of this new partnership with the wonderful people at Nuclear Blast. We are most certainly eagerly looking forward to working on the next Nile album and to fearlessly continue bringing Nile's unique brand of Ithyphallic Brutal Death Metal to our fans."

also i hear Joe payne is also officially the new bassist of nile and no longer only a live session member, and will be on the new cd.

Nice, Joe kicks ass. He was really a great guy when I met him.

Yeah Joe Rules, his stage presence is probably the best of any Nile bassist I think. I just hope he doesnt forget about Domination Through Impurity, I would rather have a awesome Nile and awesome DTI than A Ultra-awesome NIle and No DTI. They were saying on nilechat.net that joe is an offical member too so I will believe that. Either way this is a interesting move. Karl was saying he was pleased with relapse and their support but I guess nuclear blast offered something different. Who knows, maybe Nile will get on some cooler tours or headline some with better supporting acts. There was supposed to be a tour last year with Morbid Angel, Nile and Necrophagist but then muhammad got sick. Hopefully something like that is in the works for the upcoming year.

I remember when Relapse/Nuclear Blast sent out B&W flyers promoting Dismember, Gorefest, Brutality, Disharmonic Orchestra and Pungent Stench. Wow, that was LONG ago.
