I saw Dio back in 2002 with Deep Purple and The Scorpians. That was a good show! I'd like to see Black Sabbath with Dio...I've only seen them with Ozzy. My godfather would like this cause he likes Dio-era Sabbath better than Ozzy-era Sabbath.Mike wrote:I would imagine Black Sabbath circa 1971-1973 being amazing.Blarg! wrote:No no,Matt has the best memory of anybody on the board!BlackRoija wrote:I love Black Sabbath, you moron. I never said they were "gay".
haha, yeah Nile is the only good band playing ozzfest. Black sabbath is overated live, anyways.
The current version is a joke.
And I'm assuming it's just Ozzy because Black Sabbath is back together with Dio again.
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???
Ben and I were talking about this today. I think the way that the smaller Ozzfest bands are going to be able to do this tour is by selling merch on the festival dates and playing off-dates at clubs in between. So I'm hoping for a Nile/Daath show in Atlanta on one of the off dates. And if they have to have LoG along, i'll just watch some of their set before I split.
OMG, now Behemoth is in on this... this thing is unstoppable...

BEHEMOTH Added To Ozzfest 07; New Album Set for July Release
Body: Polish extreme metal titans BEHEMOTH are proud to announce their addition to the Ozzfest 2007 lineup having landed the direct support, non-rotating slot right before second stage headliners Hatebreed. This is the first time a Polish act has ever participated in Ozzfest.
Nergal (vocals, guitars) states, “I couldn’t be more proud about the fact that BEHEMOTH will be joining this year’s Ozzfest! I’m speechless and beyond excited. No doubt it’s going to be the brightest point of our career thus far, and I hope that this will help to spread dangerous and extreme music among the masses.
“It’s an honor to team up with our longtime brothers in Nile and to share the stage with Lamb of God and Hatebreed, not to mention the legend himself! With such a bill, you can expect nothing but pure metal carnage! What makes me even more excited is the little fact that we will be releasing our new album during the tour. So expect songs from The Apostasy, as well as some older shit. We’ll definitely make sure the set is going to be brutal as fuck. You’ve been warned!â€Â
BEHEMOTH built their career upon their unrelenting touring schedule, performing over 325 shows worldwide for the Demigod album campaign. With Ozzfest, the group kicks off the worldwide touring cycle in support of their highly anticipated new album, The Apostasy, which is set for a July release.
The group’s most ambitious and epic offering yet, The Apostasy, was recorded in the band's hometown of Gdansk with Nergal and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producers' chairs. The effort is currently being mixed with the acclaimed Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad) at Dugout Studios in Sweden and mastered by Bjorn Engelmann (Rammstein, Samael).
BEHEMOTH became one of the most talked-about acts within the scene due to their vicious and unrelenting live performances on last year's Sounds of The Underground tour, which garnered them legions of devoted new fans. After a slew of major U.S. tours with the likes of such acts as Danzig, Morbid Angel, Chimaira and Black Dahlia Murder, the group more than solidified themselves as one of the genre's most exciting new artists.
While most bands struggle to evolve and stay vital within the extreme music genre, BEHEMOTH manages to do so effortlessly. The Apostasy is destined to continue the legacy.
"BEHEMOTH will blow you away with their intensity and musicianship."
--Lambgoat
"BEHEMOTH is the maximum combination of extremity and atmosphere."
--Metal Maniacs
"Top notch death metal that effectively combines brutality and intelligence."

holy crap! that's really cool. I just looked at the schedule and it looks like I am going to be in school by the time it comes to the south. At first, Ozzfest was looking really crappy but it does keep getting better for this year.
maybe I should go to the one in Hartford...I have family up there anyway...
