Anvil is a Canadian metal band. Metal on Metal is probably their most famous album and, released in 1982, allegedly inspired Metallica and Megadeth. I bought their album The Strength Of Steel back in the day. I'm sure Bob knows what I'm talking about.

Anyway, like Exciter, these guys never really made it. This film is a documentary about that. Supposedly, it is reminiscent of "This Is Spinal Tap." Except that this is real.

Blabbermouth story.

Movie website.

Anvil MySpace.

That made me want to see it. Their album titles are just so sad, going from 80s "words that have to do with metal" to 2000s "don't count us out cause we're old, but we are out of ideas".

* Hard 'N' Heavy (1981)
* Metal on Metal (1982)
* Forged in Fire (1983)
* Backwaxed (1985)
* Strength of Steel (1987)
* Pound for Pound (1988)
* Angry and Acoustic at Carnegie Hall (1988, authorized bootleg)
* Past and Present - Live in Concert (1989)
* Worth the Weight (1991)
* Plugged in Permanent (1996)
* Absolutely no Alternative (1997)
* Speed of Sound (1999)
* Anthology of Anvil (1999)
* Plenty of Power (2001)
* Still going Strong (2002)
* Back To Basics (2004)
* This is Thirteen (2007)

Why don't I check this board more often?! Guess I'll have to Netflix it as usual.
