Where do you take your guitar for servicing?
I know very little about guitar maintenance so I usually take it to Guitar Center to get set-up. Just wondering what are some other good options. Is there any particular place anyone really likes and can recommend?

I use Brian Malone. He's a master and works on many the gear of many artists much more high profile than me. That said, I don't know if he is accepting new customers as he is concentrating on training luthiers at his school. Check with, I think it's called, Southeastern Guitar Repair for Brian or an equivalent level luthier. Unfortunately, Brian/SGR is way out there in Gwinnett somewhere.
If you can't get Brian, I'd recommend Dave at Midtown Music. I used him for many years before he picked up the Guitar Center contract and got much busier. He's still a killer luthier last I knew.
Does anyone know what happened to a luthier named Lou who used to have a shop at the corner of Clairmont and Buford Hwy? He was a great dude and a very good luthier. He trained under Bert (forget his last name, if you are old ATL you'll know who I mean) and eventually bought the business from Bert. He just disappeared one day. Shame...
