Did anyone ever actually go to this? It looked pretty groundbreaking for a Halloween scare attraction, and I'm hoping it did well so it returns next year.

I really enjoyed it. I thought it was creative and well executed. A lot of the "Surprise" type scares had several of the people in my group jumping out of their skins. Some of the creepier moments worked well. And I liked the fact that there was a sense of humor to some of it as well.

Some of my friends complained that the paintball bit was over too quickly. Having heard this in advance I was pretty conservative with my ammo and took my time going for head-shots. I don't know what that says about me as a person, but nailing slowly moving creeps in the face with paintballs was pretty damn amusing to me. haha That said, if you've done paintball before this might not be all that exciting.

I should note that I used the 1/2 price deal (Thanks Dan!), but if I'd had to pay the full price I still think I would have gotten my money's worth. Judging by the crowd I think they did pretty well.

you shot them in the face? I know they're zombies...but they're people acting as zombies. How far away were you from them? I have to imagine that must have hurt the zombie lol
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

It's all in fun. They were wearing masks and helmets. We're talking highly trained military zombies here. haha

I'm sure they still felt it because their heads would bob back a bit, but that was the whole challenge of the game. You kill the brain you kill the ghoul, ya know. Even the girl giving the safety instructions told us to aim for the head. She also threatened to shoot us in the balls if we shot one of the zombies after they hit the ground, so I think she meant business.

They started out about 50-70 feet away and walk towards you. And I know the guns were powerful because 1-they seemed really accurate...no noticeable trajectory curve, and 2-I decided to fire one shot up a bit just for the hell of it, and the paintball soared...probably a couple hundred yards (and off the premises into the woods).

I just played Paintball for the first time at my college the other day. All they had were masks and I got shot in the back of the head but it only hurt for like 10 seconds. I think people exaggerate on how much it hurts tbh.

ohhh yeah I was wondering about that. Yeah, if they had masks then I suppose it doesn't matter! That's funny she threatened to shoot y'all in the nuts

I heard they got pretty bruised up in general, but I'm sure they were compensated for it. I'm sure they paid them more than the actors who weren't actually being shot at all night.

And yes, clearly they take safety of their human targets very seriously. haha

Alan, when you were shooting at the zombies, that was part of the extra "Zombie Shoot," not the regular zombie attraction, right? (Two separate tickets or the slightly discounted combo...)

The fact that you thought you'd have gotten your money's worth even if you'd paid double (i.e., the regular price) is pretty good news for them.

Correct. Regular price was $20 for the attraction, $15 for the shooting range, or $30 for both. The coupon was 1/2 price for the attraction, but didn't cover the range. But they sitll gave me the combo deal so it was $20 for everything.

And yeah, people seemed to really dig it. The people who worked there had a blast. From what I gathered it was successful for all involved and they're already working on making it even more insane next year.
