Re: well
Ha! Have you seen Darkon: The Movie? LARPers are a freaking trip. That's a movie I highly recommend for anyone into documentaries like I am.Odinson666 wrote:i like it for what it was just wanted what it was to be more. sometimes it felt like i was watching people out LARPing
I recently was driving by some public park in Dunwoody and my husband started shouting "Holy shit! Pull over! Pull over!" He had spotted LARPers in the wild and needed to photographically document their actual existance. The funny part was my Mom was in the car with us and she was quite confused by the whole thing.

I watched Black Death. I found it to be like a Shamalamadingdong movie without the Surprise Twist Ending. Except I haven't actually finished it, because after SPOILER ALERT Sean Bean died END SPOILER ALERT I had to leave, so there's still 15 minutes left. Not sure if I'm going to bother.
The good news is that watching Sean Bean run around in wet armor for an hour and a half is, in my book, time well spent. So it wasn't a total loss.

I watched this last night and very much dug it. Thanks for the tip. It was a bit tough to follow at times, but I didn’t mind that. It made the viewer put some thought into what was happening rather than tediously explaining everything through unnatural dialogue. That’s fine by me. Certainly quite bleak. Makes me very happening to live in this fucked up post modern age.

The sad thing is....I probably know them.badcarburetor wrote:I recently was driving by some public park in Dunwoody and my husband started shouting "Holy shit! Pull over! Pull over!" He had spotted LARPers in the wild and needed to photographically document their actual existance.

I finished Black Death and I still say "meh." (Except for Sean Bean who is smokin hot.) Then I watched Valhalla Rising, since it's a current topic. I enjoyed it very much even though I had no idea what the fuck was going on. It's like a Jodorowsky movie in that it follows a linear path (mostly), and I liked watching it, but other than that I am clueless. And One-Eye is indeed a major badass.badcarburetor wrote:I watched this last night and very much dug it. Thanks for the tip. It was a bit tough to follow at times, but I didn’t mind that. This is lame as fuck to admit, but I was "fact checking" the wiki for it as it went along just to make sure I wasn't totaly ass backwards on what was happening. The wiki is broken down by section like the film, so I didn't spoiler myself. Which really isn't all that different than how some instructors explained Ingmar Bergman films when I was in school, only in this case I wasn't paying a grand a semester.Diana wrote:I finished Black Death and I still say "meh." Lucio Fulci "New York Ripper." If you like nudity, sex, and violent sexual murders committed by someone making Donald Duck noises, this is the movie for you! It has the typical giallo weird dubbing and unnatural dialogue ("I'm happy to be home, cuddled and loved by you"...okay) but that just adds to the charm! It's on Neflix instant play, and I won't say anything else except don't watch it with your grandma or your kids in the room. It's glorious!
Bless you Fulci, you magnificent bastard.

I hated Vahalla Rising. It was like a Viking saga written by Beckett. No thanks.
Is there a "good" Viking movie?
