Hey, I'm new here as well. I'm Sindre, a Norwegian who somehow ended up in Atlanta, GA.

Up north, Tromsø! Los Angeles høres jo bra ut, mener du byen eller landet?

Also thanks Diana, it was a close one! I didn't know about humidity before I came here... But now that I am used to it, fuck 6 month winters anyway, this is much better. 8)

Haha, not really. It's quite the white-boy semi-rural suburbia. Probably the worst thing that ever happens there is someone peeing on the toilet seat in the Starbucks bathroom.

Yeah really, he's been keeping that quiet. He probably doesn't want us asking him how to pronounce shit.

Too bad: How do y'all pronounce NÃ¥strond? :D

byen, så atlanta har vært en gradvis kultur shocle for meg, men jeg har overlevd,

haha yes, Diana i am a writer by trade so it is easy for me to emulate American speech patterns, and i'm a decent faking an American accent pretty easy unless i'm drunk then i can barely speak english , i worked with a dialect coach , i found having a thick accent made it harder to make money here and people tend to talk slower and patronize you, so i hit the ground running on that , the south i found to be a challenge because of the whole bible belt thing , in most of northern europe saying you are a christian is like saying you still believe in Santa Claus, you are seen as a joke , so i had to learn not to laugh in half the cities face, but still find myself having giggle fits in the bathroom even though i have lived here since 94,

That sounds like a magical place. Fuck Georgia and its no liquor on Sundays and bible thumping and 100 degree summers/falls/springs and humidity and churches every 1/2 mile. Fuck it in the neckhole. Wait - why are you here?

PS: Please don't stop laughing in their faces. That means they've won.

Just gotta stock up on Saturday night. I haven't seen any liquor stores open on Sunday, but I've come across a couple of gas stations that sold beer past midnight on saturday nights and sometimes sold beer on Sunday to regulars.

That's one thing I like about living in Tennessee now.
