Cool & light with just the right amount of fruitiness without making it gay.Metalfreak wrote:I really like La Fin Du Monde. It's a Canadian ale and it's 9% I believe. If you haven't had it, try it!

Please post what shop has this in stock. I've been looking to score that again for quite some time. It's a really nice drink.GameFreac wrote:Tuesday I'll be in Atlanta and gonna get a case of Founders Breakfast Stout before the Vektor show. Can't wait to drink my 2nd favorite beer again.
What's your favorite beer?
Last night I took dinner (Crawfish Shack!), a bottle of KJ chardonnay and a bottle of Ommegang Art of Darkness to some friends who just had their first kid. We didn't get very far into the AoD. At 8.9 it's very heavy. I figured with two or three of us working on it that we'd knock it out easy, but a little goes a long way with that one. The KJ went down easy. It's a silly wine, but tasty enough. If you like very, high alcohol beers it's for you.

True...you can get Ruination in a single 12 oz bottle at some stores for around $3 though. And regular Arrogant Bastard is like $4 for a 22 oz.Pretty cheap but I agree, I usually don't buy bombers.Strange wrote:Great beer! It's a bit pricey for me though. I might have 1 or 2 a year. Kinda like Ruination in that I really dig it, but it's hard to justify $6-$8 for one 22 oz beer.GameFreac wrote:
Yeah I'm sick of 4 packs
Have you had Double Bastard? That's my favorite Imperial Red/American Strong ale.
As far as I know, every store in Atlanta got some and got a lot so just look around. I'll be going to Green's.badcarburetor wrote:Please post what shop has this in stock. My favorite beer was Founder's Breakfast Stout but now it's Founder's Canadian Breakfast Stout but that's nearly impossible to find so FBS is my favorite widely available beer.

My new thing is Southern Tier: Creme Brulee and Heavy Seas: Loose Cannon (great IPA)log^Anarchy wrote:Shock Top is my favorite beer at the momentBelgian whites are pretty much the only beer I can tolerate though

me and some other Lts were out on the town this weekend and one of them goes as far to bring post its and he writes down every new beer he tries on the post its...he even writes what ingredients are in it. He then puts it in an excel spreadsheet and apparently as tried over 500 kinds of beer/ wine. I must admit, I was impressed. (I used to have a similar document for bands I've seen...then my computer crashed and I lost it all)
@log_anarchy: Shock Top is pretty good. I tried it for the first time in Tallahassee last year.
Don't know if any of you heard of them but maybe you have, Cigar City makes some pretty damn good beers. They're out of Tampa.

I tried the Cigar City Jai Aili IPA a couple years ago. Not bad at all.Metalfreak wrote: Don't know if any of you heard of them but maybe you have, Cigar City makes some pretty damn good beers. They're out of Tampa.
I've been all over the 21st Amendment stuff for a little while now. I had picked up some of the Hop Crisis seasonal which was really good. Super bitter with a nice citrus-y aroma. Unfortunately another freaking 4-pack, but it was 9.7% ABV so that made up for it a bit. Also, from a mathematical standpoint, you can get 48 oz of this for like $2 more than a 22 oz bottle of Ruination...so there's that.
I really like their Brew Free or Die IPA as well as the Bitter American seasonal. I tried the Hell or High Watermelon on a recommendation, but as I'm reminded every time I try a wheat beer...I just really don't like wheat beers.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

Allagash White is a good one, too.log^Anarchy wrote:HOLY SHIT.Generubin wrote: Southern Tier: Creme Brulee
I ought to try Hoegarden too, I was reading about Belgian whites and that one's apparently the best Belgian white out there (it is made in Belgium, after all). The site also said that Shock Top is the Anheuser-Busch of Belgian whites
Update: Bought a case yesterday. There's a TON. If you go to Green's on Ponce you should have no problems getting any.badcarburetor wrote:Thanks for the info, GameFreac. I had just given up looking for it on my bi-weekly shopping trips.
I do this. I'm only up to like 200 though.Metalfreak wrote:me and some other Lts were out on the town this weekend and one of them goes as far to bring post its and he writes down every new beer he tries on the post its...he even writes what ingredients are in it. Hoegaarden is good but it's also an Anheuser busch product. I agree AzureDragon...try Allagash White. Also, Creme Brulee rules and Cigar City rules. I bought like $100 worth of their beer this past Christmas and summer when I went to the brewery.

I picked up one of those custom six-packs from Publix and tried:
-Hoegarden: not nearly as good as Shock Top or Blue Moon, imo
-Leffe: A Belgian "blonde" ale. Distinct taste, I dig it.
-Brooklyn Lager: Meh, not my thing at all. Then again I don't like lagers. Remember that drinkify.com site, where you enter a band and it tells you what to drink while listening to it? Well, all the grind bands I named gave me Brooklyn Lager, so that's why I wanted to try it
-Magic Hat #9: Holy shit this is good. At first you just have a pale ale, but then you get this apricot aftertaste which is just amazing. I'd love to get a pitcher of this
-Magic Hat Elder Betty: I've never had anything like this. Beeradvocate.com calls it a Hefeweizen, from southern Germany. Anyway this is without a doubt my new favorite beer

If you like Hefeweizens, try Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier.log^Anarchy wrote:

I just brewed my first beer yesterday...it's an IPA. Hopefully I did everything right and it ferments.
