Eruption - Tenses Collide out on Xtreem Music

"Tenses Collide", the sophomore release by Slovenian thrashers ERUPTION, has just been released via Xtreem Music.

Picking up where they left off with their debut, "Lifeless Paradise", ERUPTION's new CD is described in a press release as "lethal, unadulterated thrash similar to that of such well-known stalwarts of the genre as TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN and VIO-LENCE."

The track "Celestial God" features a guest solo by Brad Hull from the legendary Seattle thrash act FORCED ENTRY and the reformed SANCTUARY. The cover artwork was created by Andrei Bouzikov (MUNICIPAL WASTE, CANNABIS CORPSE, SKELETONWITCH, VEKTOR).

Not that big outside of the occaisonal show at Metelkova or Metalcamp (and that feels like it's attended mostly by Austrians anyway).

Bass players are prone to violence, we all know that We quite like Nadimač, although I think the influences we share are few at best. The scene over here is OK for a country our size I suppose.

It's the festival(s) that give off a bit of a false impression - Metalcamp has come to be synonymous with metal in Slovenia, and yeah, the attendance mostly consists of people from the neighboring countries. The festivals that are geared towards domestic metal usually amount to a couple hundred visitors at best.

Just out of curiosity, what are some smaller local metal fests there? Metalcamp was a blast the one time I've been (I don't think I've been quite as mind numbingly drunk since, actually), but had hoped to see more Slovenian bands (besides Keller) like maybe Krvnik, Somrak, Diclkless Tracy, Noctifieria, or even Devil Doll (counts as sort of Slovenian I guess). I've got good friends in Ljubljana, but I sometimes kind of wonder how up on the local scene they are outside of just whoever's playing at Ortobar or Metelkova (which are both completely badass).

Metal Mania and Metal Kramp are the only two that last two to three days. Admittedly they've been held sporadically in the last couple of years. Always a great party though; Eruption's played both.

Then you've got the huge shows with a fuckload of bands all playing the same evening that some people take to calling fests. Calling these sporadic would be one hell of an understatement, although Winterstrike has been pretty consistent (takes place near the Austrian border), mostly focuses on the thrash and death side of things. Return of Darkness and Evil has seen 3 installments in 2012 and it's usually the same core of bands, aims for '80s cult black, thrash and heavy metal.

Aside from the above details, you've got a pretty good hold on things man. Orto and Metelkova's pretty much all there is aside from the occasional gig at squats/dives. Most of the bands you mentioned play in Ljubljana at least every once in a while except for Devil Doll; wouldn't hold my breath for that one, haha!
