Celtic Frost - Prototype

Post by Brian » Mon March 4th, 2013, 9:02 am

This was brought to my attention this past weekend. Don't know why I've never heard of it, or why it's never mentioned alongside "The Unspoken King" or "Illud Divinum InsANUS". Makes those records look like goddamn "Left Hand Path". You just can't make this up.

Yeah. I think I got an electronic copy of this back in 2007 or so. Listened to it once and forgot about it.

The difference is that this was a demo, released to three people. In context, Fishcer was coming off his type with Appolyon Sun and had just started working with Ain again. I never listened to Appolyon Sun much, either, but I think that band is similar in style, if more rock centered. Thankfuly, they worked this out of their system. Some of these riffs, have been reused and I think "Relinquished Body" was reworked for the the Tryptikon album.

If you want to keep you relationship with Morbid Tales and To Mega Therion intact, do not click that link.

So, there's a silver lining, I suppose.
