AHHHH!! THE MONKEES!! You are 100% correct. HAHA! And alsoMS_39455 wrote:Urgehal is an absolute favorite of mine, but that always bugged the hell out of me about them. Urgehal makes me laugh with their random fade-outs. Every once in a while they have a song where they went "fuck it, we'll end it here -- just turn the volume down. Done."
whats everyone currently listening to????

Ha! "Hee Haw". That's gold, right there.MS_39455 wrote:Fade outs during vocal parts only draw comparisons to The Partridge Family, The Monkees, and Hee Haw in my mind.
We had a drunken conversation about this several months back. I think now, without all the beer, I understand better what you meant.
Slayer -- Reign In Blood. After listening to this album for far, far too many years, I still trot it out every couple of months and it still sounds so good.

the Bellicose Minds- "The Spine"
Looks like I missed out on the first vinyl pressing. I finally pulled it this morning and spun it on my way into work. It's very good and very much like the demo/EP before it (even sharing a song or two). I love their sound, but I really wish the drummer would mix it up a bit more and lose a lot the 16th note high hat tapping (or whatever drummers call that monotony) that he does on too many songs.
Blackwater Records has a bunch of intersting looking stuff. Have you heard any of their other releases? I noticed Warcry in their and I remember liking a record that I have of theirs. I think I'll dig around a bit. I'm particularly interested in Frantid.

I can understand, I love a touch of groove in my death metal personally. Speaking of making conscious efforts to change up song writing; the new Machetazo is also worth checking out if you haven't already. No more intros and seems slower.Ryan wrote:I think i like AGNG better but i like that they made a conscious effort not to make the same album twice. Necrocracy seems to be much groovier but still in a totally legit way. A nice follow up for sure!Generubin wrote:Listening to the new Exhumed, Necrocracy, and holy shit this stuff is so fucking killer. Check out the new video.

Ruin? Yeah dude, killer record! I'm really not a fan of most "death/doom" but I think they worked those parts in masterfully while still keeping all the nasty grinding they're known for in place.Generubin wrote:I can understand, I love a touch of groove in my death metal personally. I'm obsessed with this. OBSESSED.
Magister Templi - Lucifer Leviathan Logos
Vocals are certainly....interesting. I like em.
Pest - The Crowning Horror
This rules. Just foul in the vein of Morbid, Treblinka, etc.
Warloghe - Womb of Pestilence
Never heard of this band in my life up until a month ago or so, and since then I've seen the name many places and had one person recommend them to me. Fate. And it's great.

Yeah it reminds me A LOT of Henbane, but came out a few months before Henbane did. Proto-Henbane.Ryan wrote:Was actually listening to that earlier today, pretty jammin!Brian wrote:MORBID SLAUGHTER Torment in the Crypt
