Digitizing records is a pain in the ass. What kind of software do you use? And I assume you used some noise reduction effect?

I did it at the radio station. Nothing fancy, just used Audacity to record and cut the tracks. We might have some more automated software, but I didn't ass myself in looking for it/learning it. SL1200Mk5 with some cheapo cartridge (stanton 500.v3) into our radio production mixing board into the PC. No noise removal software. There might be some noise suppressing hardware in there, I dunno. Only DSP used was some very mild and localized click/pop removal followed by a channel-independent normalization (need to look at the turntable wiring... the left channel tracks louder than the right).
