ALDEBARAN -- buried beneath aeons
Cleaning out his closet I reckon. Played just before GU at Rites of Darkness coincidentally (or not). Pretty excellent freebie.

15 albums of Iron Maiden in shuffle mode at work (no Blaze albums, no Live albums, no B-sides, no repeat tracks (which happened once)).
37 tracks in total.

"moments" in songs

it might be a great album through and through. it might have a gorgonesque magnitude when taken as a monolithic whole. the idea of subverting the continuity of what is obviously an intentional journey through vibrations and emanations might be counter to your respect for the musical craft.

but yet, you find yourself rewinding the medium and listening to a particular section; over, and over, and over again. not for the pretense of "analysis" or "reflection;" but for hedonism; for the aural pleasure of a particular moment in sound.

why do we do this? why eschew the satisfaction of build-up and release, instead for a purgatory-like retraipse, in a cycle, without apparent meaning or purpose?
