I'm going to try and get some copies of #4 and maybe even back issues in ATL stores, namely: Book Nook, Criminal Records, Wax 'n' Facts, Wuxtry. I'll let y'all know when this happens.
Also, via 20 Buck Spin:
POSTAGE PAID option for those looking to buy only a copy of the magazine and nothing else OUTSIDE NORTH AMERICA. It saves about $3-4 by this option.

Disfigurement
Abyss of Hatred 7â€Â
Boris Records
2012
Rating: Bourbon
Dixie Death Metal mines MALEVOLENT CREATION, early incarnations of MORBID ANGEL and SEPULTURA for brakes-out sprint to the finish. These two tunes are probably what Florida’s DIABOLIC was gunning for on Excisions of Exorcisms, minus the production that practically left it sounding like some noise rec out of an Osaka cock & ball torture dungeon. No studio/band tomfuckery here, as guitars and drums compete to see who blinks first while enduring “the quickening.†Sometimes accomplished playing and Jacob’s Ladder-like aggression work pretty fucking well together.

Mangled
Sewer Metal
Boris Records
2012
Rating: Chips & Beer
Leatherface configures into four bloody-apron wearing beerwhores who commune with C.H.U.D.s and baby alligators, mumbling messianic crazies and other assorted street trash. Between fur-brained non-sequitur and flat-beer farts, they manage the alliterative “Gutted in the Gutter,†and the self-reflexive “Mangled,†both of which have more to do with Necroticism... era CARCASS than any band who ever worked through “Welcome to Hell†in a 10,000 degree Florida practice space. If Joe can refrain from counting off on the snare next go round, I may even join in with the chant, “Dayuth to the Jaysus.â€Â

Spewtilator
Inhale Awaits
Boris Records
2012
Rating: Chips & Beer
Toke for the road as Spewtilator sticks a fork innit. Dudes blaze out rather than fade away, howev, here on their first wax treatment, grandly presented by upstart Boris Recs. Spewtilator first came off as a joke band to me (see/hear: “Altar of Snackrifice,†“Bong of Death,†etc.), and their grind influences, early on, cheapened the music and kept it from budding, bro. Which makes this swansong unfortunate, as the “badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose, who don't play by the rules, and are out for blood†apparently really got their shit together for two originals and a CELTIC FROST cover, “Into the Crypts of Rays.†The joy buzzer’s still on the paw for “Xanax Fury†and “Burn in Hell†(and the 7†art prominently featuring vomit, cock, bong, and upturned bill thrasher dome), but the tunes are no gag, coming off like Wild in the Streets-era CIRCLE JERKS or Black Cross EP-era 45 GRAVE working through an unruly handful of REPULSION covers. Play fast. Smoke grass. [SV]
