Divine Intervention is one of my favorite Slayer albums, it's definitely a weird album to categorize in the Slayer discography though. It's got such a raw, fuzzy sound to the production and sounds literally like nothing else they've ever done before (or after)... it sounds more like a death metal band doing a bunch of awesome Slayer covers.
For all the bashing Paul Bostaph gets for not being o.g. Slayer, he puts on one hell of a performance on that album.

I wandered away from metal in the late '80's, so I've never really heard Seasons, or Divine Intervention or Diabolus. Or even God Hates Us All.
But from the day they were released, I loved Reign in Blood and South of Heaven.
I'm pretty pleased with Christ Illusion. As someone else observed, it's not like the old days, but it's pretty damn good. Especially with Lombardo back in the fold. Not to slag Bostaph, but Lombardo has a style and feel which really makes songs.
