Go to their myspace. It's just glorified punk.

So, why are we gay? Because we actually have melodies in our songs, and it's not completely random? Let's go with that.
Glorified punk?!

Ok then samsara and shadows in eden is just glorified emo.

Infact,Metal in general is just glorified rock.

Since when is black metal completely random?

It has melody too, just not as prominent and obvious as power metal
That was directed at death metal/grindcore/noise stuff that Matt listens to.

Okay...well in what I said change black metal to death metal/grind/noise.

Although noise as a genre DOES have no melody. It's still awesome though. Merzbow, Whitehouse, NON, Wolf Eyes, Sutcliffe Jügend...

Well personally, for me to like a band, they have to be somewhat musical. I can't get into anything with zero song-structure and no melodic elements.

While I've resisted the urge to respond to other threads where you've expressed such sentiments, I just want to point out that if you denounce one form of metal while proclaiming a love of another form of metal you're going to catch shit for it.

You don't like extreme metal. It's not for you, and you clearly don't get it. But to say an entire genre (or a few in this case) has no song structure or melodic elements is insulting to those who listen to it, and is frankly fucking ignorant.

Honestly, I don't get into a lot of power metal aside from Maiden, but I don't decry it as an art form. There's some brilliant shit out there in that genre, but I don't get into most of it so I leave it to the people who do.

I try not to make a hobby of shit slinging. And that is part of the reason I don't post here too often. But I'm glad this forum is here and as Blaze was saying the few people who seem to have the most negative sentiments to share aren't nearly as numerous as the cool ass people who populate this forum overall. They just seem to have more time on their hands.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!
