I can't tell you how relieved I am that Tagtgren has nothing to do with this. I like his bands, but his production jobs sound way too digital and uniform. And uninteresting. (Ironically one of my favorite albums -- and favorite production jobs -- of all time, Enslaved's Mardraum, was produced at Abyss, but that seems to be the exception and not the rule.)

But enough about me. This Triptykon rules. The second half of the second song was ... Good to know that Monotheist wasn't some kind of miraculous fluke.

edit: This thing is a monster. It's like Monotheist with special guests Neurosis. And oh my god, is it loooooooong.

edit2: Had no idea that Tagtgren produced Monotheist. Wowzers.

My copy finally arrived in the mail. I ordered the mediabook, and it is pretty fucking cool. As with Demon Entrails, Warrior has put together a really good package.

The best part is, not only is the label-side of the CD black, but the business-side of the CD is black, as well.

That's cool. The only black discs I've seen are those in the Japanese edition of Opeth's Candlelight Years, the box reissue of Orchid, Morningrise, and My Arms, Your Hearse. I never did find out if the domestic version was the same way.

Only ten minutes from glorious dowtown ATL. Maybe we can hit the firing range next door first. :P

Apparently, Triptykon is now destroying Europe. I'm looking forward to the U.S. tour, which hopefully will be announced sometime soon.

Yes. I'm a Warrior fanboy. Well, at least for the periods of 1982 - 1987 and 2001 to the present.

He'll probably pass over ATL but play four dates in FL. You got the book yet, dickhead? That's my crapper reading/gazing for the past coupla weeks.

Fave part is this facsimile of some zine where Ain lists his hobbies as: D&D and "Sexism: All kinds... (I am NOT GAY!).

I'm holding out hope -- CF came through in 2006 and then againin 2007, supporting Type O.

Nope. The deluxe package is supposed come with a signed copy of the book, the EP that Triptykon will release, a LP copy Eparistera Daimones, Tom's first child, the keys to the seven gates, and the winning combination of the next Lotto drawing.

I should just get off my ass and buy it.

Interestingly, the publisher is Bazillion Points, which is owned by Ian Christe. Which is the same guy that does that show on Liquid Metal. He has been posting a fair amount over at the Hellhammer/CF/Triptykon forum and seems like a nice guy.

Just get it now. You won't beleive it.

Christie has certainly published some good stuff. And he wrote a killer book on Van Halen too.
