Well, it is definitley different than all the other albums. I mainly bought it because I saw the video for "Pearl" at www.undecieved.net
"Pearl" is the best song on the album as far as I am concerned, but theothers aren't bad. Just don't listen to the other albums before this one. It definltey stands on it's own and you can really tell Ole Borud is no longer writng the tunes. It's still metal, it just seems to go into goth rock territory at times as well as even a pop sound. It was only 12.00 at Sweet Spirit bookstore.
yeah, ole borud was the saviour for extols music. their earlier stuff before him was horrible. he came into the fold right before burial and you can really tell. that album, as well as all the others rip.

Lots of older stuff.

Grim Reaper
Piledriver
Gothic Slam
Otis Redding
Carnivore
Coven
and alot of older death metal , back when melody was still important to music. Unlike alot of the new dribble that passes as metal.

I've been listening to a lot of the old Swedish pre-Gothenburg metal lately, like old Entombed, old Grave, and Illdisposed.

That shit is still heavy as hell and has aged very well.

Today was:

The entire AFI catalogue (yeah, I'm gay, so what)
Doomriders - Black Thunder
Cave-In - Perfect Pitch Black

Not very metal today...

I don't know their first album too well.
I rock Shadow Hearts from time to time, though.

Last night I busted out Godflesh - Selfless and Gorefest - Erase, and been listening to Blood Duster's Yeest and Straght Outta Northcote a lot lately.
