I honestly had no clue people hated Deafheaven.

I don't really pay attention to image, true/false metal, interviews and their views on life, and their lyrics etc. If it sounds good, I like it. It sounds like black metal with post-rock elements and I love post-rock so genre blending is fine with me.

I went to the show and it ruled. You guys don't like them. That's cool. I'm not mad about it.

What's funny about this is there's an active thread dedicated to non-metal shows, clearly displaying interest here in a wide variety of stuff.

I dunno, I guess as noted here, some people just get particular if everyone doesn't like the same stuff they do.

Mallcore fags have never been accepted here, and this forum is pretty fucking relaxed compared to what it used to be. If an established poster posts about a guilty pleasure they may get a respectful roast. If you roll in on post 5 and start talking about Slipknot then you are probably gonna get blasted, as it should be. I don't know what Deafhaven or whatever is but if it doesn't sound like shit with distortion on everything and fast as shit then I probably won't like it.
