That's awesome. I love that song, and the lyrics kind of told a similar story. I will buy this soon.Diana wrote:I just finished “WHARGOUL†by Dave Brockie. It’s about this demon-alien thing called a Whargoul that feeds off of war and eats souls for strength.

Is that a typo on the Sugarman book or a twisted porno knockoff title?Odinson666 wrote:"No one gets out of her alive" Jerry Hopkins
I just finished Steve Ignorant's autobiography "The Rest is Propaganda." It was a fun, quick read. Those Cr@ss dudes were way more irreverant than I would have thought.
I have that Mark Evans book. Maybe I'll start it next instead of Pynchon's Mason & Dixon that a friend has named for her new book club. I'm not so sure I can handle that one anyway. Shit written in dialect is either awesome or cloying. I'm not sure which way this one will lean.

haha only on my first cup of coffee it's the jim morrison/doors book
If you can get into his groove for about 10 pages or so, Mason & Dixon moves quickly. I love it. Reminds me a lot of Baron Munchuasen.

Alright. Based on that, I'll give it a real shot. Though, I didn't really like Baron Munchuasen when I saw it many, many years back.stewvee wrote:If you can get into his groove for about 10 pages or so, Mason & Dixon moves quickly. I love it. Reminds me a lot of Baron Munchuasen.

If you don't like Munchausen or Time Bandits or anything remotely resembling "literate anglo humor" I'd skip this one.

Perusing the latest BUDK catalog, I noticed they have introduced "Santa's Picks" tags to help me narrow down my search for the "perfect gift:"

This is perfect for everyone on my list! How did they know? With today's busy lifestyle, it's nice to know BUDK is looking out for me.
Good news, Stew, the Russian gas masks are in! This will be the best Xmas ever.

Just finished the 4th book from A Song of Fire and Ice (A Feast For Crows).
Working on The Last Barbarians and the Quran. I might start a book called The Serbs soon. I had to put down Soren Kierkegaard's Works of Love. It's not that I don't enjoy philosophy. The way he writes just bores the piss out of me. I'll probably try to finish something else I put down. Also from time to time I pick up The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales.
