Panzefaust, Darkthrone's greatest achievement as it sounds like nothing so much other than blatant Celtic Frost ripoffs.

Circle the wagons, heimes.

Fenriz (extremely drunken): "We should fuckin' make a fuckin' Celtic Frost record." (*gestures vaguely with cigarette*)

Nocturno (takes a long drag on cigarette): "Ya."

Dude. I freakin' love that album. I had never, ever heard anything like that (maybe because nothing like that had been recorded to that point) and when that industrial fan, or whatever, kicked in on "Vile," I was absolutely transported. To me, that is exactly what prog should be. Fucked up phrasing and non-linear composition with no hint of cock-rock, demi-god ego or attempts to be cool.

Have you got a newborn? Did I miss that, somehow?

Kid could come at any time. Consider me frazzled. That explains the Ozma, an alcohol and raw ether substitute and most definately working its way into the blood stream via said industrial fan... baaahhhhhbbbbb whiiiitrrrrrrr whiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrr. My fave Melvins ever. This is what I thought Kiss would sound like when I say the LP covers in Richway bins when I was a wee babe.

@ Jordan: YES. That's what I was saying after side four. Goddddddamn. It's been toooooo loooooong.

Ha, Richway -- haven't thought of that in a while. I remember being in the back of my parents' car and gettin' giddy when I saw those giant orange (or red?) Lovecraftian shapes on the roof of the store.

And speaking of Darkthrone worship, have any of you guys heard that thing Fenriz and Nattefrost put out called Engangsgrill? I have not, but I'm wondering what the deal is.
