New Watain single. The megaupload wouldn't get over 2 kb/sec, but your results may vary.
If you're really impatient:

edit: I'm really liking this. Nothing vastly different from Sworn to the Dark, which is fine with me.
Oh, here's the Bathory cover. Excellent.

It's the same Ratt you remember but beefed up and with more hooks. I think - no shit - Carlos Cavazo is playing w/ them now. Therefore: Notable guitar presence. I have listened to it a helluva lot more than the new Watain single, which got tossed in the trash after five listens.Knucklehead wrote:Since Diana broke the ice -- what is it like? Having seen Ratt appear twice in your currently-listening-to-posts, I googled and discovered that Carlos Cavazo is indeed playing with them. It is a small world.VOEGTLIN wrote:It's the same Ratt you remember but beefed up and with more hooks. I think - no shit - Carlos Cavazo is playing w/ them now. Therefore: Notable guitar presence. Apropos of nothing, Stephen Pearcy really looks like shit, these days. Kinda like an unhealthy Chuck Billy.

I love the mental image of Knucklehead wringing his hands and muttering "shit shit shit" and hoping someone else brings it up.Knucklehead wrote:Since Diana broke the ice -- what is it like? VOEGTLIN, I'll see your beers and raise you what's on my easel right now.
Hmm, this is news to me. I hadn't given Ratt a thought after the self titled '99 album when they supposedly were trying to get Dale Thompson from Bride to replace Steven Pearcy on tour later. I lost interest completely after that. Been some good records from that era lately (my opinion anyway). I was listening to the latest WASP again this week thinking that it's pretty solid.VOEGTLIN wrote:It's the same Ratt you remember but beefed up and with more hooks. Disappointing news about Watain. I am guessing that this is going to be one of those things that people either really like (ala DeathfareDevil) or really don't (ala Voegtlin). Terrorizer listed Sworn to the Dark as the third best of the decade, which surprised me. But if the new album is like that, it is a-okay by me.
I've really tried to get into Watain a couple times and just cant dig it. I saw them when they played hell with Withered and it was entertaining but i dunno... theres just much better shit out there imoKnucklehead wrote:Disappointing news about Watain. I do like the album, but that seems a little high, to me. Dopethrone was first and Monotheist was second. Odd choices.VOEGTLIN wrote:Knucklehead wrote: Terrorizer listed Sworn to the Dark as the third best of the decade, which surprised me.
Anyway.
Gräuen Pestanz/Miasma -- Into the Fire of Isolation. A split between these two bands, which Century Media included for free in package with other stuff. I probably won't be listening to it again. Half Xasthur love, half Darkthrone love.
