I was thinking about getting the Little Sumpin Sumpin...it's technically an American Pale Wheat Ale but everyone says it tastes like an IPA and is similar to Lagunitas Sucks (one of my favorite beers but no longer brewed) but every time I see it, it's old. I hope they have a fresh 6 pack at Hop City tomorrow because I really wanna try that. Does it have a tropical fruit (peach mangoes etc.) flavor in addition to the grapefruit flavors?badcarburetor wrote:Very true. It tastes like burned coffee mixed with soy sauce.Knucklehead wrote:Nectar of the gods, my friend.
Having said all that, the extra stout is nasty.
I did have a dog named Guinness Extra Stout. He was little muscle ball pit bull who looked black, but when the sun hit him had a ruby sheen, just like Guinness. That was a helluva dog, much better than the beer.
I've taken a turn I never expected. I'm all about that that Lagunitas Lil' Sumptin (sp?). It's so grapefruity and strange and I love it. I'm drinking them fancy beers a lot and really loving them. I'm sure I'll 180 right back in cheap American piss soon. That's my comfort zone.
Also want to try Lagunitas Hop Stoopid. I might just go on a Lagunitas haul tomorrow.

Maybe, on the other fruit flavors? I don't taste anything deeper than the grapefruit, but my bandmate said it was like lemonade or something. Both of us are pretty much knuckledraggers when it comes to fancy brews, though...

I'm just trying to find more IPAs that have the pineapple peach and mango flavors. Nothing has come close to Lagunitas Sucks it's soooo good.

The guy came over during our homebrew class and was bringing beer to people but I didn't have any money and had to drive. I wanna go there some day though.egg yolkeo wrote:did you go in 5 seasons (next to hop city) yet? They had one called plan b but Im not sure if its still on tap.Try the Slaughterhouse 5GameFreac wrote:Alrightbadcarburetor wrote:Maybe, on the other fruit flavors? I ended up getting:
Little Sumpin Sumpin
Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout (gotta try the nitro version of the beer that got me into beer)
Allagash Dubbel
I had a Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock but my American Express gift card was being retarded so I had to put it back.

Guinness Cupcakes Mmm Mmm Good
Except that frosting is gross so use this one:
Mmm Frosting
and it's even better if you use regular cream instead of Bailey's.
This junk is delicious.
I don't have a cupcake pan but I do have a cake pan...hmmmm
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

I <3 the fall:
Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale
I LOVE this beer! Rich, warm and tasty while remaining refreshing. I tried the Dog Fish Punkin (I think that was the name) yesterday while having lunch at Grindhouse. It was 7% and "okay," but it won't replace this beer as my bottom bitch.
Newcastle Werewolf
Nutty and warm. Another nice fall selection.
Samuel Adams Norse Legend Sahti
I don't know much about the special edition Samuel Adams bombers or what makes a "sahti," but I really dug the shit out of this beer. So much so that I hit a few spots before finding a place that had it in stock so that I could stash a few more. I think I'm going to have to do that again because this beer makes for very nice small presents.
Other than that, I'm all about the water. I love that stuff so much.

Sahti's sound interesting...I want to try one soon.

Tuesday I'll be in Atlanta and gonna get a case of Founders Breakfast Stout before the Vektor show. Can't wait to drink my 2nd favorite beer again.

I'm going to have to try some more pumpkin ales. I really dig the Terrapin Pumpkinfest, but I'm kind of annoyed that it's a 4-pack now instead of a 6.
I've been on a hoppy red kick lately. So far I've tried the Green Flash Hop Head Red and the New Belgium Red Hoptober. The New Belgium was okay, but there's something about all of their beers that I just don't like. It tastes almost stale somehow.
The Green Flash, however was spectacular. All of the best characteristics of a red ale, but with a great hoppy finish. Only problem with this one...again, fucking 4-packs.
Also, really happy to see one of my favorite beers back on the shelves: Sierra Nevada Tumbler. Soooooooo tasty!

Have you had Double Bastard? That's my favorite Imperial Red/American Strong ale.

Great beer! It's a bit pricey for me though. I might have 1 or 2 a year. Kinda like Ruination in that I really dig it, but it's hard to justify $6-$8 for one 22 oz beer.GameFreac wrote:
