You think so, huh? Don't think it's too "uniform?" Too long? Too much too much?

There are some fantastic riffs here (*cough* Dissection *cough*), but the lyrical content is tres Watain lite, no?
Honestly, I buy so few releases now that I really couldn't tell you whether it was in the Top 10. But Terrorizer certainly did.

I hear a lot of people comparing Watain to Dissection. Of course, two of the guys on this album were involved with that band, right? So it isn't surprising. Personally, I don't hear it. I have not heard Reinkaos, but this album doesn't sound like Dissection's old stuff, to me. And I don't have any of Watain's older albums. Meh. Maybe I have a stone ear.

I do hear punk and thrash influences, which is what appeals most to me,. considering the ear we grew up in. I really like the songs "Satan's Hunger" (for that very reason) and "Sworn to the Dark." To a lesser extent, I also like "Stellarvore."

Too "uniform?" Either across the genre or across the album, the uniformity doesn't really bother me.

To much too much? I'm beginning to think that describes Assassins: Black Meddle, Part 1. Or any guitar wankery, ala Dragonforce.

It's "samey" to me, and doesn't hold up over it's 4 hour length or whatever. Check out the other two records, especially Causus.

All Dissection is good. I hated Reinkaos when it came out but I listen to it all the time now. Not Somberlain or Storm..., but what is?

Things were a lot cheaper when Voegtlin was young. Gas was < 90 cents, a McDonald's cheeseburger 75 cents, and they had just invented fire.

Seriously, though, I picked up Peace Sells ... on CD recently, because I no longer have a turntable, althought I still have the vinyl I purchased back in the day. Seriously, that remaster does violence to the album that I remember.

Yes, the remaster does suck.
Generally though, test presses are very limited (in the range of 5-20 pressed)...just heard of a test for Hell Awaits going for about $3K, so I can't even imagine the Peace Sells price.

I don't hear it either. I love Dissection but can't get into Watain at all.

Oh, sure.

Weird. Popsike says that a test press for Peace Sells... went for $250 back in 2007. I agree -- I would have thought much more.

Was gas ever really that cheap? I remember being able to run my bug on a tank of gas for a week and fill it up for under $10 when I was in Hschool. Maybe it was that cheap...

Megadeth tp is a friend's! I've got a cassette (!) dub. It's as great as one would expect.

Nice find. I came across a CD-R boot at a record show a while back for a show they did at Gazzari's in '74. All covers. Amazingly, even a Montrose song. I kinda' wish now that I would've picked it up.

Cop Shoot Cop - Ask Questions Later
The Axis of Perdition - Physical Illucinations in the Sewer of Xuchilbara (The Red God)
Skepticism - Alloy
Antaeus/Katharsis - split

'74?! The earliest boot I have is '77, and they're doin the same sleazy covers along w/ "Little Dreamer," "Show Your Love," and "Happy Trails."

Atomic Punks rules. Soundboard, fulla sloppy vocals and soarin leads. Mike "Sacred Salt" Anthony laying a retaining wall of bass.
