I just recently check Maniaxe out and I love the genre combinations they use. Even though I'm picky when it comes to grindcore they combine all the right elements of the genres. (Rise Killbot Rise is funny as shit)Ryan wrote:ghoul is excellent. you need to check out the first 2 albums... We Came for the Dead and Maniaxe. WCFTD is waaaay more death metal and Maniaxe is halfway between WCFTD and ST. Great band. Do you like Impaled?Generubin wrote: Ghoul - Splatterthrash (why haven't I listened to these guys before o_O)
I haven't listened to that much Impaled. I want to see them at MDF but Sadistic Intent is playing the same time. So I have to debate who do I want to see more.
yeah, maniaxe and wcftd are my favorites. splatterthrash is still good, i just prefer the faster pace and blasting of the first 2 albums. wcftd has waaaaaaay more blasting and guttural vocals than maniaxe and splatterthrash.Generubin wrote:I just recently check Maniaxe out and I love the genre combinations they use. Impaled shares 2 members with Ghoul. You should check out their albums "Mondo Medicale" and "The Dead Shall Dead Remain." Total Carcass/Exhumed worship.

Really liking it so far. I've only listened to it once since I got it this morning. I think it's definitely worthy of all the hype...especially if you liked Monotheist. Top shelf production, Tom's distinct vocals, more Giger than we've seen on an album cover since probably Danzig III, and plodding chainsaw guitars. I dig it.Nyarlathotep wrote:So what do you think of it?MS_39455 wrote:Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones (finally got mine now too after an eternity on back order)
yeah, i kinda just checked em out on a whim and was totally surprised by how good it was. "vegan straightedge hardcore" is generally a BIG turnoff for me but punch and coke bust seem to make it ok with how sick the jams areGameFreac wrote:Yeah some dude on another forum has been repping them so much for the past few months so I finally checked em out. Ha, the Giger cover was why I originally picked up To Mega Therion back in like '88. Best purchase based on cover art I ever made.MS_39455 wrote:more Giger than we've seen on an album cover since probably Danzig III, and plodding chainsaw guitars. I dig it.

I haven't listened to it as much as I want, although I do really like some of those songs. Especially "Goetia", "Abyss within my Soul", "One Thousand Lies" and "Descendant." Don't care for "Myopic Empire" at all. Of course, I never really cared for "Relinquished Body," the demo song upon which it is based.MS_39455 wrote:Really liking it so far. Warrior and V. Santura did some great work on this one, though. I think that this one is more varied than Monotheist and has more of an organic feeling than the last CF album.
