Executive Producer usually means large sums of money were involved, and not necessarily any work.
In this case, dude had nothing to do with the film until it was already completed.
He did the same thing with Hero.

Not exactly. Him and Eli Roth are friends. Eli came up with the idea and told Quentin about it in his pool. And Quentin said that's sick you need to make it I'll help you.
But yeah, all of this confusion about who directed it would be easily resolved if people had better reading comprehension and used imdb.com

Regardless of if he knew about it before or after, he still didn't do anything but provide money.
I've read around because I was wondering what he actually did, and found site after site to confirm his mere monetary involvement.

You still don't know if he helped him with the idea. Them being friends changes it.
This is much different than Hero where he found an Asian movie he liked and paid to have it released here and put his name on it.
