they weren't mediocre. i'll admit that, i made the statment in the heat of the moment just wanting to defend pantera. in my opinion pantera was twice the band exhorder ever was but that doesn't make them mediocre.ratanda wrote:No way dude.BlazeTSU wrote:exhorder was mediocre......
i just honestly don't understand the argument. its fairly possible that pantera was in the middle of recording cowboys from hell when exhorder released slaughter at the vatican. there is less than a year b/w the releases. people make it out like exhorder were seasoned vets with an established sound that pantera just came along and ripped off but thats just not the case. and not to mention that cowboys from hell was no where near the album that vulgar display of power was. and vulgar display of power is when the world took notice of pantera....and VDP slays anything exhorder ever did PERIOD!

sorry, i just think the whole ordeal is way overblown. exhorder was mediocre......pantera was a huge part of metal history. you truley can't deny the fact that almost every american metalhead that was around in the early 90's was infact into pantera.
i think it just boils down to the fact that pantera got huge. if they wouldn't have gotten so big people wouldn't be so hard up to knock'em down. and whats so perplexing is the fact that they got more extreme the bigger they got and people still want to bitch.
Well said.
This could've been better if Phil didn't looked all fucked up and talked nonsense.
