I more or less agree. I don't vote Republican or Democrat and haven't since I was 18.

At this point in the game, voting third party is a "sum is greater than the parts" scenario. I refuse to waste my vote on a continuation of the politics-as-usual two-party tripe we're all encouraged to get angry about.

I just want to say how much I enjoyed my voting experience yesterday. I got to the polls and actually had to wait in line. Yes, I'm actually happy about that because it signifies to me that some people (however misinformed they may be) actually care. I played the shell game, pressed the buttons, voted Libertarian almost across the board (for everything except Dept of Agriculture because that guy kinda seemed like he just wanted to run for something and didn't really care what), not because I wanted to be contrary to the demopublicans, but because I am a Libertarian.

Regarding playing the "lesser of two evils" game and being a nation of pawns for the hidden-hand agenda. Well, yes, it annoys me sometimes. When I was younger and more idealistic it used to tear me up a bit. Now I just play the hand I'm dealt, thankful that I was born here as opposed to someplace like the middle east. I have to choose from a handful of money-grubbing shit-heels for leadership, but at least the soccer field near my house isn't a fucking mass grave. (And this all still has very little if anything to do with this particular election.) I cast my vote and the sweet little 100-year-old lady gave me my sticker and I went on to band practice.

Sonny's still the Governor. Nothing will continue to change for the better in Jaw-juh. But at least his wife, who I've dubbed "The Stepford Redneck" and Zell "What fucking planet do you live on anyway?" Miller will hopefully SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

Then you sir shall never vote anytime in any country. It's interesting that you point out "BS of the last two decades". That's about how long you've personally observed politics. The BS has always been there yet history can make people seem a lot better than they were perceived at the time.

A SouthPark episode from the 2004 elections summed it up well with the 'Turd sandwich' -vs 'Giant Douche' school mascot election and Stan refused to vote.

The nation spoke loudly and clearly last night. They said that they overwhelmingly support moderate conservatism over conservative conservatism. It was a great, great day for our one-party system.

i really have to say that at one point i was interested in politics. then i realized that the "best man for the job" never stands a chance in our current setup. the democrats and republicans are looking for posterboys for the party and not the most capable for any elected office.

we saw this with alan keyes in the 2000 elections. he was obviously the most intelligent candidate on the ballots but he didn't fit the "posterboy" image. he was kept out of debates, had to sneak into debates and was basically black-balled b/c his main objectives would've directly challenged currupt megapowers in this country.....namely the IRS. one of his main objectives was to abolish the IRS all together. another problem keyes ran into was that he was black and stood firmly against jackasses like al sharpton and jesse jackson. he also refused to play the race card on any issue. what good is a black man that isn't going to fight for special treatment for black people?

while watching keyes totally outclass mccain and bush on the one debate he was invited to i realized that he was nailing his own coffin shut. even as the debate went on the moderator just stopped asking keyes questions and the tv cameras quit panning over to him. he was interupting to give his rebuttals and the cameras wouldn't even show him. it was like a ghost had entered the room.

I like Lewis Black's idea. Everyone gets to vote for a State. Once the votes are tallied a plane flies over that state and a monkey with a parachute is ejected. Once the monkey lands, the first person he contacts becomes the president.
