Recalling my bedroom moshing days, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who, after slamming into a wall, cared less about injuring himself than about ripping posters from their thumbtacks. How demoralizing to find oneself in a crumpled heap in the corner, with half of Blackie Lawless' face fluttering to the floor like a fragment of pure shame.
This is poetry.DeathfareDevil wrote:Recalling my bedroom moshing days, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who, after slamming into a wall, cared less about injuring himself than about ripping posters from their thumbtacks. I weeped the day I had to take down all my posters so we could get all the holes out of my wall and paint it because we were "moving."DeathfareDevil wrote:Recalling my bedroom moshing days, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who, after slamming into a wall, cared less about injuring himself than about ripping posters from their thumbtacks. That was a year ago...same house.
My room is so plain.

Back in 1989, I had a cook as fuk Metallica poster hanging on the back of my dorm room door. It was the demon from the "Jump in the Fire" EP with some other stuff on it. I don't remember exactly, now, but it seems like it also may have had the individual photos from the "Whiplash" EP on it. Anyway, my idiot room-mate (who was later my best man) got loaded one night, pissed off for reasons I never understood, and threw a jar of change across our room. Against the door. Scores of little coin tears in this poster that I would still display today. All I could feel was deep, deep sorrow.DeathfareDevil wrote:Recalling my bedroom moshing days, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who, after slamming into a wall, cared less about injuring himself than about ripping posters from their thumbtacks. I've neither downloaded nor purchased this. But it looks like the entire album is over at their MySpace page. The song "Psychopathy Red" (which was released as a teaser for the album several weeks ago) reminds me of the Slayer that I grew up with -- it makes me want to burn cars.
I'm not sure about the rest.
EDIT: "Not of this God" had me, up to the "Beautiful People" section. WTF?
