God damn your gear rocks too, love those Melody makers, but is that 2 different necks on the guitars???? I'm interested in hearing that Bedrock to see how that thing sounds, never heard of one of those!

Thanks, man.

Tons and tons of gain. It's pretty sweet. I used to play in a band with a guy who had one and I coveted his sound. I eventually tracked this one down on eBay and bought it from some dude who played with Alex Chilton, some proto-version of Big Star if I remember correctly. Thing looks like it just came out the factory.

If you are ever going to be up at Thunderbox on a Monday or Wednesday let me know and pop in for a test drive.

Indeed. When Guitar Center was still in Buckhead - and under it's pre-GC name which is eluding me at the moment - in one of the tryout rooms there was a promo poster for it with Nigel pointing at it. I've been trying to find a copy of that ad on eBay for years. I want to frame it.

Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Guitars:
1996 Ibanez JS100 Joe Satriani signature model
(modified with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates coiltap humbucker at neck position - stock pickup broke due to "alcohol related guitar abuse")(Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9's)

Image

1984 BC Rich Mockingbird
(Gibson Flat Wires 12's flatwound jazz strings)

It doesn't have the ugly stickers on it anymore. About 2 years ago I tried to sand off all the butt ugly 80's hot pink finish BY HAND, which didn't work out too well. You can see where I fucked up the wood. Ended up blistering the shit out of my hands rubbing the hell out of it with strips of sand paper. I felt compelled to get rid of that fucking Slipknot sticker too. I was mildly impressed by them back in maybe 99, but these days I'd be more embarased of that sticker than the hot pink color itself.

About the only pedal I really use anymore is my wah. Just a basic standard issue Vox for that classic british wah sweep. I've tried Dunlops before but they all sound like shit to me.
Image

Also have your standard issue metal guitarists distortion pedal, the old Boss MT-2 Metal Zone. I never use it anymore though.
Image

Also have this old vintage probably early 70's Morley Phaser/Volume pedal. This one's pretty cool, lets you control the phase with a pedal like a wah, or you can switch it to auto and accelerate/decelerate the speed of the phasing with the rocker pedal. Has a very different sound from the digital ones made these days. Actually... these days it has NO sound, because I left the motherfucker plugged in and turned on once and I guess it burned out a bulb in somewhere or fried some other little part, I dunno. Thing was missing a knob when I got it, thus the ugly red one for the "center" control.
Image

Amp rack:
Marshall JMP1 tube preamp
Digitech GSP2101 Studio Tube preamp/processor
Aphex 106 Easyrider 4-chan automatic compressor
Peavey Classic Series 120/120 dual mono poweramp (6L6 tubes)
Image

Don't even use a cabinet at the moment, anything I do is direct out to the PC's line-in jack.
