When they played the DU back in August, I remember thinking halfway through their set, "this could be the perfect metal song."

Maybe that was the beer talking -- I have no idea what track it actually was.

So, I'm from Michigan, and was only vaguely aware of these guys. It is kind of amusing to me how their reputation has grown.

I assume you've heard John Brannon's next band, the Laughing Hyenas?

Oh yeah. That shit was TRVE in the 90s. They got so much coverage in Flipside I assumed they were from LA. He's got a new(ish) thing now called Uneasy Action that's more of an NA throwback, but not exactly.

I know not this of which you speak. Wolf Eyes is some Belle and Sebastian style hipster shit? Or am I totally off base. What's their connection to NA?

NA also played Seth Putnam's wedding(!) a few years back. My buddy got a commerative t-shirt.

Naw, they aint emo. Wolf Eyes, dawg. Like dead drum machines and feedback loops and guys seizing and pounding Coorz Litez on stage and fist pumpin. They's from Michigan too. It's a little brother/big brother type thing, but Wolf Eyes was enormous at one time and played some shows with NA and got "the kids" all interested and eventually all your NA records are now being eGay'd for like $50 ea.
