Matt I was only joking about you being gay. But to tell the truth I don't care for Iron Maiden that doesn't mean I don't know what is metal I just don't care for old shit like that anymore. To me its rather stupid to argue the point of what is metal and what isn't it's all a matter of opinion. As far as I know matt I don't recall anyone making you the authority of metal so you can climb down off your fucking pedestal. Why do you give a shit of what one person thinks.

In general, I define Metal as a heavy, loud form of music, generally guitar driven, that makes normal people wince when they hear it.

As far as the new wave of faux-hawk eyeliner sporting hot-topic-a-teers go, all I can say is this: Find your older brother/father's collection of old Metal Edge magazines and look at all the pictures of glam bands. Think for a moment about how cheesy they look. Now think about what people in 10-20 years will think about you.

In short, image is nothing. Metal is everything. Obey my cock!

i define metal metal not based on heaviness or vocal style but on the songs are constructed...there is a certain craft to writing any certain type of metal that can't be compared to any other type...i dont even consider nu-metal a genre...it sounds like hard rock to me

They're heavy enough for me and sing enough about zombies and shit, thus they register on my metal detector.

They get a shitty rap for being on bills with awful metalcore and hardcore bands, and people compare them to At The Gates a lot, but to me they're on the top of the heap of the current ATG clones.

I like their new album a lot actually, it's like a mix of At the Gates and The Crown. If you're gonna bite the style of two bands those are two good picks, and they pull it off rather well.
