Knucklehead wrote:Megadeth -- So Far, So Good ... So What. Haven't listened to this one in ages. Two great songs ("Set the World Afire" and "Hook in Mouth") and a whole lot of filler, IMHO.
those are the two best songs, dont forget the intro "into the lungs of hell" and track 7 "liar"

i understand what youre saying, i dont know if i would call it filler, but songs like mary jane and 502 arent there best songs. but come on, the anarchy in the uk cover and in my darkest hour are classics.
I really dug the intro back on the day, but really, isn't it Dave sounding like Yngwie? The cover, IMHO, is weak. I'm sure it introduced a lot I metal kids to the Sex Pistols, but it doesn't come close to the fury. Covers were really popular, back then. The only good one i can think of off the top
of my head is Sacred Reich's cover of "War Pigs". But I haven't heard that in years, either, so maybe it actually sucks, too.

Dave is best when he is raging, which makes those other two tracks so good. "502" could have been a great song, but for the stupid lyrics and the moronical spoken word bullshit in the beginning and the carcrash interlude in the middle. Dave doesn't pull off plodding very well, I don't think, with the exception of "Peace Sells ...". That's most likely why I don't care for most of this album.

Stayed under the radar until recently. You're not missing much though. NWN, Salvation and a few others have copies for the US now. Bit of a let down even with all of the disclaimers really. It's meant to accompany a bound Swedish dissertation about fornicating with spirits (haven't we all?). The NP track is a semi acoustic instrumental barely 3 minutes long. The Rotting Christ tune is OK for what you'd expect from them these days. Save your $14 for that new Joe Walsh album.
