i'm good friends with all the guys in norma jean and they do plenty for the time that they have. they tour over 250 days a year so they can't "do" a whole lot for the scene. but they have done plenty for the souls unrest, by letting us open for them on mutiple occassions as well as taking us on tour with them.

tooth and nail is the mother label for solid state.........and norma jean/luti-kriss was only a part of tooth & nail through being signed with solid state.

That's awesome.

& I didn't realize that Tooth & Nail was the parent company.
I don't really think it's a major label, though.

yeah, i don't think of tooth & nail being a major label either. they are a decent sized label though with at least two sub-labels under them.....solid state and i think the other is BEG. honestly i couldn't care less about T&N or solid state other than the fact that solid state has had some great bands in their line-up at one point or another......bands like:

LIVING SACRIFICE
ZAO(where blood and fire bring rest - parade of chaos)
TRAINING FOR UTOPIA
WARLORD
EXTOL

first off, holly. no one said they were metal. second... i dont see why if they let souls unrest open for them. why cant they take your demo to their label and try to help get you signed? i ran into them in a guitar center one time. tried to ask a few simple questions and they were complete dicks. you here about other cities putting out alot of bands. seatle with the grunge scene. new york puts out alot. i dont see why atlanta cant help each other out and get some bands going. get a name for ourselves
hope you all fucking rot

if they were dicks then you had to have mistaken them for someone else or they might have just been having a bad day. honestly, all of those guys are super nice. and as far as them trying to get us signed to solid state, they did but we didn't want to sign with solid state. we had no interest in being on a metalcore/screamo label. actually they took our demo to relapse and black market activities. relapse loved our music but didn't like the vocals so we stuck to our guns and looked elsewhere and BMA got into the fold right as the band broke up.

actually, i didnt mistaken them. i know exactly who the are. not personally but i know them all. whether or not they were having a bad day, they should be willing to talk to fans and not be dicks no matter how bad a day they are having. thats who made them who they are. i simply asked them how their tour was going and when the next time they were playing in atlanta and the guy simply roled his eyes. and made a gesture to his friend like "can you believe this guy talking to me?" that seems like a dick thing to do. i give them credit for trying to help you guys out. that is the first ive heard of that happening. i think that should be the way all bands act. as you play shows you develope friendships with other bands. whoever gets picked up first should do what they can to help the others out. i just didnt feel like any of the bands out of atlanta have ever done that.
hope you all fucking rot

actually andy didn't tell him the name of the band that he was in so I don't think thats the case. Oh and on a side note how many people on here and by here I mean the forum are actually over the age of oh.... lets say 25

You're the first person I've EVER heard a bad Norma Jean-related experience from.
& just because a single person had a bad experience doesn't automatically constitute a bog "fuck you" to the scene.

Have you ever been to a Norma Jean show and seen how those dudes interact with their fans?
They're all amazingly nice people, and I can personally vouch for the fact that Jake is an all-around awesome guy.

well depends on what you are talking about. The point was made pretty clear in the first sentence the second part was just an inquiry

well it might have been an isolated incedent i dont know but that was the impression i got. and YOU personally vouching for them doesnt mean shit to me. no i havent been to a norma jean show because they arent metal enough for me and i only listen to metal bands. of course ive been to their shows. and having good stage presence doesnt mean your not a dick off stage.

i personally vouch for them as well..........and i've known them for many years and long before they were ever on a record label or even known as NORMA JEAN. they've all stayed basically the same besides their clothes and haircuts and they've always been some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

i'm sure that if they knew that they had done that to you that they would apologize and assure you that it wouldn't happen again.
