Spite Extreme Wing - Kosmokrator. Not sure where this band's been all my life, but better late than never.

Sarcasm - A Touch of the Burning Red Sunset demo. Pretty good and definitely not what I expected to hear from an early-90's Swedeath band with M-A lyrical themes of DEATH DARKNESS AND GORE.

Scald - Will of the Gods is Greater Than Power. Man, these dudes loved some viking-era Bathory. I do too.

Heresiarch - Hammer of Intransigence. If you like heavy music and heavy riffs and heavy songs GET THIS EP. Absolutely relentless.

In Solitude - s/t and TWTFTD. Still my favorite band of the past few years. not changing any time soon. Masters.

Lampades - IX Demo. Think a koala loving, Foster's swilling version of Grave Miasma.

Manifesting - Primeval Adulation demo. Disgusting and Suffocating. YES.

Griftegard - Solemn, Sacred, Severe. Album title says it all.

Night Sins - demo & New Grave. Sisters of Mercy worship from ex-hardcore kids. Trendhop all you want as long as you're putting out music this good.

House of Atreus - demo I. Reminds me of Arghoslent if they didn't hate black people and instead really loved black metal from the country of Zeus and man-on-boy sodomy.

Mare - Spheres Like Death. Carrying the torch of Norwegian BM mighty high...

Cornigr - Relics of Inner War. Like a Finnish De Mysteriis. This album rules and is highly recommended.

Darkthrone -- Panzerfaust.
Discharge -- Grave New World. I'd forgotten why I bought this album in '89 and only listened to it once. Now I remember.

Out of curiousity, I googled the lyrics of "Snø og granskog (Utferd)" last night. They definitely resonate -- I'm going to our cabin on Saturday, which is the middle of a spruce forest.

Ha, that's the first Discharge album I bought. I was all, "Whuh...? I don't get what's so awesome about this band."

My exact reaction. And, I was making $30.00 a week at that time, working in the cafeteria at school. So I wasn't going to give them a second chance -- there were too many other albums to buy. And too much beer to drink.

So good, the both of em.

So far at my desk:

Pallbearer-Sorrow and Extinction
Loss - Despondency
Magnum Force - Self Loathing ep (Brutal grind/pv/hc... shit is heavy)
Sidetracked - Uniform ep (Gnarly fastcore... not quite as catchy as Hummingbird of Death but similar and very enjoyable none the less)
Magrudergrind - Crusher (meh... their s/t was the last thing they did that I thought was any good)
Inter Arma - Destroyer (Good but not quite as good as Sundown I think)
Volture - Rulebreaker ep (I love this shit, need more from them. If you like Priest and you haven't checked this out do yourself a favor and change that)
Pagan Altar - Lords of Hypocrisy (Good but I think the more modern production kinda kills it... or at the very least takes away some of the atmosphere that made Judgement of the Dead so great. Apparently this has been "digitally re-mastered" so I guess I need to track down and older copy to hear how it was supposed to sound, ugh.)

Currently:

Sixbrewbantha - s/t (2nd best grindcore album released this year behind DT80K's Harsh Realities... nasty riffing out the ass)
SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.

chelsea wolfe - unknown rooms
burzum - filosofem

Don't remember the last time I was genuinely stoked on a new thrash band but this Radiolokator track has me pretty psyched, especially once it hits 1:17. Brutal thrashing abound.
