So, as I get the pleasure of spending MY ENTIRE WORK DAY listening to my mp3 player, I will post which albums I listen to until I get bored of doing it or you all tell me to shut the fuck up. Most of the time it's on shuffle, but I do listen to a few albums front to back each day. Unfortunately it's 16gb...and I'm really lazy about cycling albums out, so I tend to listen to the same stuff for months at a time...and a few things NEVER get cycled out. I'll try to not double post the same album.
I've come to terms that I'll never be 'up to date' on new releases or bands, because I spend all my time digging through the dust filled catacombs of bands decades old.
Today:
Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer (Sins of The Father is probably one of my favorite Sabbath songs)
Morbid Saint - Spectrum Of Death
Hobbs' Angel Of Death - S/T
Asphyx - Last One On Earth
Winter - Into Darkness

So, I fucked up my Last.fm for a minute, so y'all are saved from another mammoth post from me...for now...
Purson - The Circle and the Blue Door
Heavily hyped, very psychy, kinda heavy, overall worth a couple spins and will probably be mindblowing for someone who isn't me.
Bolt Thrower - Bunch of vinyl
Ghost - Infestissumam (or however the hell you spell that)
Runaways - Bunch of vinyl
Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats - Mind Control
Wovenhand - The Laughing Stalk
I like this OK, save for it gets a bit heavy on the Jeebus at times.
Alone in a Crowd - Mixed tracks
Noi!se - This Is Who We Are and Walk Beside Us
I always avoided these guys because of the dumb name, but this is decent modern oi.
Aura Noir - Out to Die
Twisted Tower Dire - Make it DarkI always skipped these dudes because I thought they were supposed to be progressive/technical and that usually means too much weedley and soaring vocals. Yep.
Wardruna - Yggdrasil and Fehu
Fucking fantastic dark mellow shit.
Fever Ray - S/T
See above.
Rigor Mortis - S/T
I've ben a fan of this album from when it dropped. I always thought the production was...interesting... It was cool to revisit it after reading the semi-recent Decibel Hall of Fame article on how it was recorded.
Voivod - To the Death 84 demo on vinyl
I have always loved the early stuff by these guys. There first couple albums are the perfect example of how fucking interesting music was when bands came from no scene and created their own sound in a vacuum. I don't think we'll ever see that again since the internet happened, but maybe enough acid in practice spaces can do the trick...
Thanatotic Desire - Silence to Violence and Deathwish
I heard a track on the satellite radio channel and kind of dug it. Maybe a bit more technical than I usually prefer, but I dug the underproduced vocals and general vibe.
David Bowie - Hunky Dory
Hearing "Kooks" in Hanna the other night made me pull this out. Fantastic album and that track is a real overlooked gem.
April Wine - Nature of the Beast
Power Trip - Armageddon Blues
Fuck! This is amazing heavy, crushing, thrashing intensity. If you haven't checked these guys out, well, get on it!
Terror - Live By the Code
Dependable, accessible hardcore.
King Diamond - Puppet Master
All Tomorrow's Party - Yoo Do Right...
About what you'd expect from the name. VU worship with a bit of updated, BJM or BRMC vibes thrown in.
Behexen, Horna and more Diana-Finn worship type stuff
Chemical Brothers - Hanna OST
Toxic Holocaust - From the Ashes...
Chaotic Dischord - various tracks
Kavinsky - various tracks
Iskald - Revelations of Reckoning Day
Fucking A, is this good dark, cold shit! I hate that I've overlooked these dudes for so long.
Off With Their Heads - the good shit, not the weak
Man, when these guys are on they do hard edged pop punk like no one's business. I miss this style being done by non pansy waists.
Well, OK, that was still kinda long, but it would have been way worse if I could remember all the vinyl I played and the Last.fm scrobbles that I had from more than a couple weeks back.

You should really check out Crest of the Martyrs and Netherworlds before you write them off entirely. You may feel similarly as you did to Make it Dark but they had a different vocalist then, might be a little more up your alley. Great band.badcarburetor wrote:Twisted Tower Dire - Make it Dark

SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.

Spill it. Also, if you are hand-sewing leather, you might wrestle the Rothstanator's sewing black belt away. It might have to be mud wrestling and it might have to be at our next craft meeting.stygian will wrote:many things can be made with old black leather pants!!
Finally listening to this Krypts CD.

I only made it to track 4 so far, and I like it fine. I prefer jangly over lumbering, you know how I am. But it's good.Knucklehead wrote:And?Diana wrote:Finally listening to this Krypts CD.
Also when I tried to listen to this two weeks ago I hit "play" and went "wait a minute, why is this Tsjuder?" and then I realized I had played Krypt instead of Krypts and then I fell into a Tsjuder hole for the rest of the week.
